get a 2500K instead (I'm assuming you don't need that much of CPU power). and there will be better (in terms of performance per dollar) ram sets, so NO.

I've had the HD6870 Toxic. It's fast (almost as fast as reference HD6950 in fact), no denying of that, but it was so freakin loud it was driving me crazy. I've had high expectations for Vapor-X technology which doesn't seem to do much. GPU was constantly hitting 75°C. If i was playing Minecraft, loud turbine in my box. Making tracks for Trackmania, even louder turbine. Killing Floor, again the damn noise. So i got rid of it. Now i have HD6950 TwinFrozr II OC Edition and it's like night and day. It still makes some noise but nowhere near as much as the damn Toxic.
Plus you don't get EQAA with HD6870 which sucks a bit. 2xEQAA has nearly no impact that i could feel yet edges are nicely smooth, almost like 4x FSAA.

Benchmark Scores Yes
His system specs says he has a 6970 toxic not a 6870? So, which is it? Other than that the parts look fine (Yes), but i would suggest the same as the rest and get a 2500k and pick up a ssd with the spare cash. Also, I would look at getting a z68 maybe with there new ssd tech in that series. Use a small ssd to speed up a larger mechanical drive.

I have 2 2500k's @ 4.5ghz crunching 100% 24/7 on air. I could probably hit 4.7ghz no problem.

Yes But Honestly.... If you went with 4 gigs of Ram it might open up a couple more bucks for a better motherboard and then if you through in a 6950 2Gb (Stock so you could flash it if you so chose) I think you would be better set up plus happier with your build. If you needed to save more money for the card buy a i5 2500k (If your gaming and that's it you don't need the i7 2600k Unless you just want it because its awesome!)

Just from someone who has already owned 2x 6870's/ 2 x6950's/ and 2 GTX 580's this gen. There is defiantly a difference between the 6870's and the 6950's and it is noticeable despite what others say. If you want to really rip things up and try something different.... go for a GTX 560 Ti... I have played around allot with them at work and that card you would like too!

Well i have no problems with temps and loudnes from this card , playing BFBC2 and all ather FPS Games in full settings on my 22" screen with avr. temps 56 deg. and fan its set to auto that means never go more then 40-45% of speed.
But yes thanks for info and advice ill look at HD6950 and see if i can buy it.

Ok guys thanks for fast response , sow what i see most of you pointing me to get i5 2500k + 4GB of RAM + new video card witch will be ..... damm thats hard choice but if my system going be intel,s i think ill be GTX-560 TI. don't know much about now-days Nvidia cards sow in that case i have trust you guys.

PS. the price of Intel Core i5 2500K 3.3Ghz 6MB i5-2500K LGA1155 its just £=169.99 when Intel Core i7 2600k its just £199, still not sure what to do then , isint about money i can spend that extra £=30 but do i really need it?

if you do not do encoding or highly multi-threaded workloads, the 2500k is fine.

Yes.
If you do video editing, 2600K is good. Otherwise, 2500K is enough.
If money isn't a big issue, go with SSD - RAID 0. Amazing.
