Hack a PC? Plug in a Razer Mouse with Automatic Synapse Installation

I use a Viper Mini and a Basilisk V2, as well as have Synapse 3 installed.....Should I be worried? :fear:

One of the things I avoid doing is to install all sorts of funny software from different peripheral or even motherboard manufacturers. We've seen quite a few cases in the past and not surprising that they still exists. All of these exists simply for the sake of adjusting RGB lighting, tuning pump/fan speed and for displaying information on some bespoke display on the peripheral itself. But the main problem is, every manufacturer wants to introduce their own software, and I do question how seriously they take security into consideration.

Satyanarayana Nadella (Telugu: సత్యనారాయణ నాదెళ్ల, /nəˈdɛlə/; born 19 August 1967) is an Indian-born American business executive. He is the executive chairman and CEO of Microsoft, succeeding Steve Ballmer in 2014 as CEO[2][3] and John W. BTW I can do more than copy & paste. I'm pressed for time (pun intended).

Nah, you are already under constant surveillance ... we know what you are thinking before you do. Self-determination ended with the internet. :shadedshu:

Hi,
Nope ms could just do what it should do and install a ms generic driver
Mouse/ keyboard manufactures need to include drive disks with their products or simple link to it for download and install.
Edit needed? I am being nice. I will then like your comment.
Hi,
Thanks but I'll stick with my original seeing even my cheap 901 redragon mice came with software/ driver cd's so it's not a big deal for companies to do this basic thing just some lazy trait companies are normalizing

People do still have and use cd/ dvd burners and if they don't then there's the link in the installation instructions to use to get the driver...

Most new PC cases don't have an ODD. Most notebooks and all tablets don't have one. My PCs have Blu-Ray drives but I am an old-school videophile that loves high-bit-rate video.

The better question is ... why would I need thirdparty drivers for a keyboard, mouse or headset/-phones to begin with? None of mines require any.
My keyboard is Razer but not RGB so I don't install any 3rd party driver, but I need driver for my mouse for cpi setting, button mapping, and battery management (such as auto sleep).
Some keyboards/mouse offer driverless customization, but personally I prefer to do it with software rather than remembering the button sequence needed to customize it.

You have options to not use driver with fancy peripherals, but you'll get less customization/feature, especially for RGB. Also generic mouse and keyboard don't need driver either.
