Having three cards... that is overkill... How many pci slots? 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 5 minimum... WOW where do I put my wireless card or sound card?

yeah, doesn't seem bad, but I would never get 3 X1900XTXs. If I do go this route, Probably 2 X1900XTXs then 1 X1600 XT for physics.

I still dont really get the whole point of the physics card, sure you get a little more debris and such when an explosion happens, but it still costs you frame rates and theres a heavier load on the cpu. When i first heard about physics cards comming out i thought their purpose was to take the load away from the rest of the computer not add to it, or maybe the ati solution is different? :-O

NICE! But it's just another marketing gimmick to make pc gamers spend more on hardware just to be trendy.

Now HERE'S an idea...have built in water cooling for X1900XTX :). That way each card only takes up a single slot (it has to be engineered perfectly or else it still takes up 2 slots.). Or better yet, there should be some way to have good onboard Wifi/Sound/Raid/Etc. I would love to have onboard Pre-N, dual ethernet, Soundblaster X-fi, and some cool RAID controller.

On the site it also says you can have one card (X1900XTX) and another (like X1600XT) for physics. So you can have your slots and physics, without the space being eaten up by CrossFire.

Quite frankly, I'd rather pay for an X1900XTX and an X1600XT then a 7900GTX and a PhysX :D.

Old. Anyone who uses 3x VGA cards tho better be willing to shell out another £70 or so for 3x Zalman VF900s to stand any chance of claiming some slots back and getting some room back for airflow.

hummm so i will just add a 1600pro and get physics woo... and the point is to get cheaper physics than buying a stupid physics card... cheaper w/better performance 1600pro=100bucks

True, it does boast better specs than PhysX.

Not if you use my new Patented "Super Sonic Turbocharged WindTunnel Video Card Cooler Tube Thingy" lol

I can barely afford 2 7600GS cards How the hell am I supposed to get 3?

There is onboard RAID in modern motherboards.

The whole point of physics is supposed to eventually be greater interaction and realism. Truely deformable scenery. Being able to kill somone in cs by shooting down the conveniently placed chandelier above them for example. Physics can really bring the gaming world to life. However, I'm not convinced by the viability of an add-in board of any description. Its probably what...a year? Untill we see quad core cpu's reach the desktop. I know PPU's and GPU's are more specialized, but I still find it hard to beleive that there won't be abundant power for these effects.

Yeah, I know, I was just using it as an example. Come to think of it, I suppose the specs I were listing are overkill . I mean, we're not exactly going to be using 10 hard drive SCSI uber-RAID lol.

Dual-core barely makes a difference, yet, and when dual-core does make a difference, and they release quad-core, quad-core is barely gonna make a difference.
