Cybrnook2002,
Prolly you're right about the cooling of the VRM's. But I would try to cover the whole thing anyway since I have seen a pic of the HD 4850 Sapphire Toxic edition:

They use a Zalman-VF900 and a heatshink for VRM's/Mosfets. I don't trust so much in ASUS cooling soultions, since I've had got a 7900 GT with the ram toasted after a couple of months of use and no OC.

In that toxic, you can also see that little VRM thats not covered and the two mosfets. I think the back VRM's are cooled only because they are so close to the Mosfets. However, more cooling can never hurt. Thanks for the praise by the way.

The area of the voltage regulators is about 5cmx3cm, roughly, and the holes seem to be 5cm apart from a rough measurement while it was in the case, but as you've probably noticed are the chips in 2 blocks of unequal height so it would require thick pads or some nifty filing of a thick heatsink to get a regular one-piece heatsink on there, and it would have to be a lightweight version since it's hanging from the back of a graphicscard and only has 2 holes to hold it.
I gather accelero's s1v2 come with a new supplementary heatsink(s) that you can fit on there if the accelero is manufactured after may, but most shops have the older one with an extra heatsink for the x1900's voltage regulators, long and narrow base with overhanging fins.
Info on installing the accelero and pics of the new heatsinks: http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/foru...eon-hd4850-512mb-graphics-card-review-23.html

I already saw a picture of someone who just cut the bit off the stock cooler that goes over the voltage regulaters and stuck that on.

Thx so much for the info Wshlist. I've also saw a pic that show a HD 4850 + VF900 and the piece corresponding to the VRM's/Mosfets heatshink cutted from retailed heatshink and installed in the mounting holes alone. The issue is that I don't want to loose the warranty because If I need to rma the card, I need the retail heatshink in one piece. The big problem I found is what you pointed, the different heights between VRM's and Mosfets. I think I'll try to put on this zone of the card Zalman's ZM-RHS1 or Revoltec heatshinks

Looks like a perfect solution to me, those small heatsinks are very handy and good to have at your disposal.
