HD2600/2400 Series Overclocking and Feedback thread

Hi people... this is my 3Dmark06 on my old HD2600XT from Sapphire (Before i have my HD2900XT) 6251 only...:banghead: but it's was a good card for me.....:rockout:

not a bad effort ive gota try and clock the 2400pro i have in a pants p4 550 what has been people getting with 2400pro's i have the sapphire one in another rig with the passive heatsink it cant play games just black screens so ive wacked a 80mm fan and dropped from 45c down to 27 idel and not dramatic temps now just time for some overclocking ;)

i'm going to sell my rig and get a laptop with a hd2600 mobile, so i will still keep in this thread :)

how many point do you gain by setting your resolution lower that what the test runs at default?

Quite a bit especially on the HD2600 with its 4 Rops and somewhat limited bandwidth. I'd go for at least 1000 points, perhaps even 2000.

@pt: Yeah, the HD2600 mobility is really good, for a Laptop GPU. Don't expect it to perform quite as well as your Desktop GFX though, since most laptop-manufacturers couple it with DDR 2 memory which runs at 400mhz, meaning a bandwidth of 12,8 Gb/s; not really much. If you have luck and can overclock it to 570mhz like me, you'll be able to reach aroun 18,2 Gb/s, close to "un"-bottlenecking the GPU at 700mhz. I believe to really remove the bottleneck you would have to reach a bandwidth of like 20-23Gb/s or something like that... But worry not, I can run most modern games just fine at almost highest settings (though mostly not in native resolution) and they look great. It runs cool too and consumes not too much power.

that is cheating ;) proves the card worthless at higher res ;)

thanks for noticing guys :)
she won't be added to the chart

Here at 1280X1024 nice 5051 at 3Dmark06.....:rockout:

True... They might make me learn myself how to do it...;)

Anyone else get a glitch at the beginning of the nature test for 05 and 06?

These are Vista scores, e6300@3.5ghz, hd2600xt@891/792

Hi all!

I hear , AMD technicians break the OC limit in bios on 3850/70 cards. (black hole over 857,25-880MHz) May someone hear some info from 2600's bios mod? :wtf:

Sorry 4 baad english.

Nig.

ok ive had my card for a while and i have had trouble overclocking from day one!! overdrive would never overclock my card and amd clock tool made me go made with crashing evertime i got close to the limit of the card!!

but ive had some spare time and this is what i got!! i could do with giving the gpu some more volts and id be flying as the max temp on the card after 18mins of testing was 48c so theres a lot of head room! as for the ram i think i have reached the limit , i got 999 but then i couldnt overclock the gpu!and before anyone asks i cant go over 857.25 if i go 880,890 it crashes!!

anyway what do you think!

i lied for some reason i had to jump up the ram a bit and this is the max of the ram!!
im well happy with the ram as its only ddr3:)

go straight to 920..thats wha ti have to do anyways..the highest ive gotten my core was 1080 but it wasnt stable at all,and i have a hard time believing that your memory is running that fast how about you take a screen shot after you click on get clock info

i will try jumping to 920,but it will have to wait as i cant be bothered to have another crash:)

but here is the screen shot your after

i got my amd 6000 up and running with 2gb off ddr800 ram ill put my specs up gave 03 a quick run with a asus EAH 2600xt gddr3 which i got for the girlfriend clocked it to 843/900 just a starter and got 14.1k which i was abit dissapointed about with the x2 at 3.2ghz in mothernature with the turtle bit which kills everyone for fps :p it went to 1 fps :\ i was shocked maybe need some different drivers ill give 05 and 06 a try later

what generally do the 2600 clock to i havnt really bother reading meny reviews and that so :p suposidly this cooler is suppose to keep the card 10c cooler than referance cooling

I have nailed a solid 960/1150
Still runs cool at that also.

impressive clocks, think the demands of sims 2 is good enough for it ? :p

lol
this cards rocks, i'm going to put a hd2600 mobile results tomorrow :)

sadly i can seem to get the gpu over 857, wish i could as my ram is great, think the gpu need more volts, cant have it all, ive tried 880,890 920, 900 and they all work untill it just freezes! might try 960 but i dont see why that would work

they work?
for how long?

they work and the clocks show up but then it locks up for no reason, i can even run a 3d mark but then ill be doing somthing like surfing the net and then bang it will lock up

weird if it runs 3dmarks but crashes on simple stuff
it doesn't happen at 857 or lower?
