HD4890 Toxic

Hi

I got my new 4890 Toxic too day and get really shocked after i started 3dmark06 or playin any game ...

system:
AMD PHENOM2 955 BE @ 3,7ghz
OCZ REAPER HPC 2GB 1333
Gigabyte AM3 UD4P
OCZ sielentxtream 600W
Saphire HD4890 Toxic

1. i got lower fps and points with my 4890 in 3d mark than with my gtx 260 before... ati(18014 points) (gtx 260 18990points)

2. Call of duty 4 when iam lookin @ a wall the fps goes up to 840 but when i look around the map the fps drop to 90... (and yes i know gettin much more fps when u lookin @ a wall is normal ) but for example:

Same position / Same game settings / Same Setup

4890 - FPS@WALL: around 800 / FPS@normal position around 90
gtx260 - FPS@WALL: around 500 - 600 / FPS@sameposition around 250 oO

3. first i installed the newest driver from net after i get knocked out from this ****in performance i used drive from CD but still the same problem..

4. sometimes it looks like iam usin the widnows std. graphiccard driver :x it looks not that much crappy but a touch of it ^^

i really hope its just a problem with the settings or something ... but @ the moment i think my baby is damaged

Make sure all of your old video drivers are gone.

after that only installed cat. 9.7 and 3dmark ... but the problem is still there :x

use vantage not cpu/3d mark06 for video cards

Definitely sounds like a driver conflict.

I hope you manage to get the unit working. I myself wanted a 4890 Toxic, but settled on a 4870 1gb to save some money.

reinstall directx9(yes u need to install it on vista/win7, the built in versions barly functional!!!!)

make sure you have everything from the add/remove programs gone, like old drivers, etc, then reinstall them. Maybeeee, you can try older drivers, just to see if it will help.
