Back in early 2013 I tried to do @FordGT90Concept EFI install, didn't work out.
Some how I did however make the 3 Tb Toshibia into 4 Partitions and it IS an MBR Disc !!??!!!
And it even self allined {to 1MiB? 2048}

I remember during setup I made aprox 504Gb to get started, then I believe all of the other 3 were made thru Windows Disc Management, atleast the last (PITA) 746Gb.

Flash forward to 2015, I've tried so many attempts to do it again, but no joy.

I was able to do a GPT/EFI install, BUT after it was finished, I can NOT see other drives thru windows.
[I think it was when I was on an MBR HDD that could'nt see the GPT HD]

So Again I have tried numerious attempts to try again only to have the dreaded 746Gb unallocated !

I have tried the free mini Partition Magic, and several diskpart cmds to no avail, but that don't mean I'm doing them correct lol........But as you can see indeed it's an MBR Disc.
Any Ideas how to do it again ?

Not sure why but it can't see the other drives
I'm not intersted in messing with GPT/EFI, and also my board dont have the Graphical interface, so MBR is fine with me.

It's worked really awesome past couple years, plus it's easy to just boot to whichever HDD and OS that I will use.

I tried some Seagate utility and it didnt want to work,
Also, I did NOT have to use any "overlay" utility to do the first HDD

The first 504 Gb Partition is my boot partition for that OS on the HD, the other 3 are storage

wait what? what does disk management look like now the OP?

EDIT: After all this I tried the SeagateDiskWizzard, it wont work with the 746Gb, "No Seagate HDD Found" :wtf:

These area 4k native HDD's, and when I first converted it to GPT and installed the OS on the first partition, it must have "blown" whatever it is that allowed me to do the MBR install on the 1st 3Tb drive.

Could/Would wiping the disk with zero's return it to factory ? or is it in the HDD firmware that "allowed" me to do the first HDD in MBR and 4 Partitions?
OR any1 have a clue as to WHY I was able to pull off such a feat ????????????!:twitch:o_O:confused:

P.S. I'm going nuts because I've lost about a month of F@H for Kreij :(
[and the Mrs is getting nervious bout me getting tax's done :banghead: ]

Disk 2 MS/DM, Disk 3 mPW
I made another small partition to try to see if the Segate Wizard @Jetster found for me would help. [Dangit didn't work ]

Straight from Diskpart /clean , it[MS/DM} can either show empty unallocated Disk and ask to convert, OR the 1st 2.xTb and the same dreaded 746Gb[unusable]...... I know it's crazy, but from what I've learned is DM don't always report a Large HDD correctly, but the 746Gb is always utouchable.

hmmmmm did this drive boot OS's at one point do you have an ORIGINAL ss of the orignal disk before format?

No ss of "new", as I assumed I'd be able to replicate it as the first HD. Both are the same drive, #1 Feb/2013, #2 Dec/2014
The new drive[#2] was first setup thru EFI as GPT with a 300Gb partition running same ROG W7[ProSP1] [just as the first ROG3Tb1] , but the afore issue of not able to see other drives in the system, I diskpart /clean to start over.
.I Never dreamd that A. I was SUPER lucky with setup of the first HDD, B. That it would be a PITA with that 746Gb.

I really don't want to start using it without acsess to the 746,

EDIT I'm going to set it to wipe the HDD with "0" and try again tomorrow.

Did I some how screw up the Factory [MBR?] something ?

have you tried a bit for bit clone?

No, I see mini Partition Wizard has a copy function
BRB
CRAP DISC Too small !!!. it's that 746Gb crap

EDIT 2
Should I use Fsutil to wipe all, it says it will wipe Disk MBR / GPT tables ???

use /clean in diskpart to get allocated.

clean

edit partition wizzard still reports it a basic mbr [Signuture 0x0] but, 2794.5 unallocated

ok now try and do a disk to disk clone. I really want to help but I would have to destroy one of my 3TB drives to do it and I simply dont have enough backup storage for that right now. the program should auto format whatever it needs to.\

Doesn't Windows 7 have issues with native 4k drives?

no MBR just has an inherent limit of a little over 2TB and will not boot nativley off of GPT unless the bios is EUFI

Read the article I linked. Native 4k is NOT supported on Windows 7

However, I think he means Advanced Format (I hope).

I did thank you please attempt to not be rude.

@revin are these 2 drive models exactly the same?

Oh I did not mean to be rude. I ninja edited the link in and was making you aware of it. Did not attempt to come across as rude, sorry.

Yes Exact same, and sorry they are Advanced Format [AF] HDD's I used wrong termonology.

It still will not copy, "Disk too small", but:

Crap, back in same boat, 503+158xxx still = 2.xTb bummer
How the hell did I do that the first time !!!!!!!??????????????

EDIT MABEY I can try "Logicial" x4 ?? then see if I can covert ?

Nope Wont allow, still the 2Tb limit

or you could try 1 500gb section as MBR then make the rest an extended partition and do 3 more in that.

When I've tried to "Extend, it still stops at the 2Tb limit, last 746Gb not usable???????????
What on did I do last year ???????

Thought: [Last year setup] Could it be that after I had finished my first Primary/ OS, then when the driver's updated it had the Intel RAID driver [which is what I have read lately] needed is this case for MBR] (x64 SP1 AND Intel RAID drv 1.xx)
that driver is what made MS DM "see and work with the whole HD???

EDIT I'll try that tomorrow and just see, but will follow up first with aything I see in here

You dont have the proper software to know. The old screen shots are from programs that do not give enough information to know the whole story. Maybe it was a 3rd party software. Maybe it was the manual sector mapping that appears to have happened. to be quiet honest unless a very detailed explanation is given the original screen shots dont offer much in the way of help. they pretty much look like this.

no drivers wont fix this this is not a software or OS related problem. this is a drive formatting issue.

Just to clarify, all these screen are fro yesterday and today,
First [lucky] 1st 3Tb secquance
Put HDD inside PC
Booted up, tried with Gparted then Rufus to do EFI install with W7, no go.
Loaded DVD W7, booted setup, Selected 3Tb Hd, Made 516Gb Primary, format selected Pri Partition
Finished setup complete, upated all drivers, then used MS DM to make more Partitions.

I' stumped, but iirc, there was not any 3rd party

Aren't these new HDD formats made 4096 physical to work correctly with x64 SP1 [W7/W8] ?
As far as being able to acsess the entire disk.
It seem's that from what I'm reading the last month that's been the "cheat", ..
There's ton's of them {3Tb+} for external storage,
Toshibia Support was a JOKE !!!
And the program they did have for "Extending" was removed after XP support was dropped

This can't be a fluke to have setup that drive Right ?
