I could really use some if anyone knows how to deal with this crap in the vista and xp nvidia drivers
(i have xp).. I have some high end hd gear here and when i plug in my hd cables it overscans my screen so big i cant even lay on it.. nvidias control panle of course sux so bad it's not working for overscan or resizing... figures. i bought a video card from them with hdmi out and a platinum decoder , have a 50" hd tv and 130 dollar gold plated cables and it's all worthless because I can't even use the dang hd connection.. does anyone know a work around or some kind of fix? tweaked driver? anything? lol.. it's driving me crazy.. been trying to fix this myself for weeks with custom resolutions and what not, but i cant make anything work..:banghead: any ideas would be greatly appreciated. thanks all..

ps does over/underscan work in vista on hdtv hdmi to dvi? if anyone knows..

??? D007 ???
the card has 2 dvi and you are using an adapter to go to the HDMI on the TV??
......because the TV has NO DVI connector??
If you bought the card retail it should have come with a HDTV Cable/S-Video Cable..
have you tried it ...I know it's no digital sig.. but hey let's just get a pic on the tv and go from there...

one other thought is the 'gold cable' duel or single link..... mabe the HDMI adapter has prob with the cable :) F

nah.. my tv has the DVI inputs.. I have an HDMI to DVI cable for it.. im using my PC monitor connection for now.. the tv was made to be able to be used as a pc monitor if desired. the pc connection works fine.. but the hdmi connection makes the picture way to big.. the 8800 geforce video card is HD out.. so i go hd out to dvi in.. also the card came with an hdmi adapter to a pc connection.. but no hd cables.. i went out and bought high end gold plated cables for it.

Are there driver options to change the HD format? what does your TV support? (1080i, 720p, etc.)

supports 1080i 1080p.. 50" samsung dlp Tv. the nvidia control panels overscan and underscan doesnt work for vista or xp.. figures.. thats just nonsense right there to have such a basic control not working..

so, let me see if I got this right, you are trying to watch HDTV with a receiver, but its not working?

Nope..lol.. I'm trying to use my hdmi cables instead of my pc cables to connect my pc to my 50" HD television.. it works fine until i put the hdmi cables in.. pc cables work great np.. the second i put those hd cables in though the picture becomes to large for the screen and since nvidias over/underscan doesnt work i cant figure out how to make my desktop smaller to actually fit in my tv screen.. :D

perhaps you might need some software or drivers or what not to put in the proper resolution of the tv. If it displays 1080i/p then you probably need to set it to 1900X1200 or what not. I think that may be the problem. Either that, or HDMI cables dont work to DLP tvs, just LCD?

lol it has hdmi in.. and it was made to be used as a pc monitor if desired.. i cant see how it cant be used with the hdmi cables if it has dvi outs.. i do run at 1900x1200 but still it's to big :(
I've run at all kinds of resolutions but they all do the same thing.

hmm, then its the internal scalar on the graphics card. Nvidia has some problems with this. And I think, for the Computer monitor, do you have a VGA plug in? That may be the problem, Im not sure on that particular brand. My 51" Toshiba can also be used as a pc monitor, with DVI or VGA. So can my new 32" LCD from Vizio (VGA really). That could be it. Have you tried reading your manual to the TV? Check Nvidia for help?

yea.. nvidia says "were sorry we suck, our overscan doesnt work for hdmi yet" only how many months since the 8 series came out? and still no overscan? lol.. classic.. Vga cables I believe will not offer a true HD picture..

well, theres the answer...Im not sure of a work around unless you can write a bios update or something. Basically, the signal coming from the card is supersceding anything the internal scalar of you dlp does.

arrgg..lol.. im going to try the z tweaked drivers when i get home.. i have been having a terrible time with them though.. for some reason where i download them from "guru of 3d" the file says it's corrupt or is a virus.. or it downloads so pathetically slow i cant stand it.. ill try again later.. i heard a 165 beta driver leaked out for xp that may fix this problem as well.. heres to hoping..:toast: well thanx for the info.. if anyone knows a work around feel free to let me know please.. thanks..

not a problem, any time I can be of help

Good luck ...F

F U too..lol.. j/k j/k totally lol.. it was just to funny not to say.. thanks for the help though Frogger. I'll let u guys know how it turns out after lunch k.. :D what does "F" mean anyway? lol..
