Update:
The ASUS bios I used (linked above) produced another issue. When I connect another display to the other DVI or the HDMI port, CCC recognizes it but the display reads 'no signal detected'..I tried different monitors and cables, different CCC settings with no use. I then reverted back to the original bios which I backed-up and the monitors worked fine, but the original issue re-appeared ! After some trial and error I settled for this bios:

Although I lost the improved fan profile and the extended CCC overdrive limit of the ASUS bios, both issues seem to vanish with this one. So I'm keeping it one for now..I'll keep you guys updated.
