Hi
I'm planning on upgrading my system in the next 3 months to this:
Q6600 @ 3.20 to i7 930 or 950
Asus Rampage III Extreme ($360) or EVGA X58 FTW3 motherboard. ($269)
4GB DDR2 Corsair Dominator @ 800mhz 4-4-4-12 to 6GB DDR3 1600mhz 8-8-8-24 ram.
EVGA GTX 260 to 2x EVGA GTX 460 SC Edition.
Creative XtremeGamers to Asus Xonar Essense ST (Supposed to sound better than the STX version)
So here are my questions:
Q1 : Could you tell me about a good ram which has the specs that I want ?
Q2: The Rampage III Extreme has 4 PCI-E slots and 1 PCI slot which I was planning to use for the sound card, the problem is if I used the recommended config for the SLI which is using slot 1 and 3, the PCI slot would be covered so my question is, can I install one card in slot 1 and the second one in slot 4 ? would this be a problem for example the SLI bridge length or bandwidth issues.
Q3: Is the Asus motherboard worth the extra $100 ? or should I just stick with the EVGA motherboard ?
Q4: Is it worth upgrading the soundcard or should I just stick with the one I have or just stay on On-board which is "Supposed" to be good on the Asus motherboard.
Sorry for the long question, bad English and I hope that someone replies....
Thanks in advance.
