Help me choose

IGP Radeon 3100 256megs with shared memory on 4 gigs or BFG Tech GeForce 9400GT 512 megs PCI-E 16X. The IGP is much more higer resolution than it need on my 1680X1050 LCD screen.
Help me choose.

hmm you might want something higher than a 9400gt, try to get a 9600 gso or gt if you want to game seriously at that resolution.

I would imagine the PCI-e card to be slightly better than the IGP, but both arent going to be spectacular, I lean to the 9400 having the edge.

I wouldn't spend the money on the card; It won't provide much more at your resolution. Save your pennies for a 9600GT at least.

well what do you plan to do with? game, watch movies etc? a 9400 is not a wise buy (if ever you ll buy it) And igps tend to be meh...

i already have those two so stop telling me to buy another card . I want advices between those 2 cards. Stop polluting my thread I WONT BUY ANY OTHER CARD !

does it matter witch you choose? you wont notice much difference.... 4 fps instead of 3?

tho i do recomend you follow what most people have said in this thread and invest in a half decent GPU,

9600, 4750 ...... Very cheap and have MUCH!!! higher performance.

I decided to put the GT9400 finally plugged with DVI dual-link in my lcd screen. But my screen has also a VGA port so as soon as i get a vgacable ill plug the IGP also. i can choose between four graphic boot-up settings in my bios.. PCI-E 16X , PCI-E , PCI , IGP. I chosed PCI-E 16X first and then IGP for booting . Now i only need to change the dvd burner for a SATA 2 to boost up the speed transfer.

By the way man I see in your system specs you wait for a decent cooling for your cpu..i got a 80mm fan here that wind up at 4850 RPM. Used but pulling air as hell. Many fins turbine look alike. I am in Quebec province if ever you are interested that could fit on a cooler that can take the 80mm fans. Cheap an I have paypal

It was an old fan for AMD tough...theres a sticker on the fan "PRO 3000A+" . CeraDyne fan ceramic bearings 12v 0.42 amps 4850 rpms and enough power to start a tornado n the case or turn your cmputer in coakroaches blender.
