Help me decide on a 5750?

Ok now im going to upgrade my rig #2. I created a thread about this sometime back. But that thread was about deciding on a the XFX or Sapphire 5750. But since im going to get one in the next two weeks. I just wanted to be 100% sure on whats best for price and performance. Also im considering power consumption and cooling. Btw all these cards are 1GB.

Here is the list:

Sapphire HD 5750
Gigabyte HD 5750
PowerColor HD 5750
HIS HD 5750 IceQ+
HIS HD 5750 iCooler IV
Sapphire Vapor-X HD 5750
ASUS HD 5750
ASUS Formula HD 5750
XFX HD 5750
MSI R5750

P.S: I wont be getting a 5770 or a nVidia. I sticking to 5750. So please post your opinion on the above cards. Thanks

Sapphire Vapor-X HD 5750
ASUS Formula HD 5750

These are the only non-reference coolers, all the others are the same exact cards. The only different would be the sticker and warranty.

For the 4 mentioned above I'd go for the Vapor-X. I got one for my cousin's build and it was a very solid card.

Surely a stock 5770 will be only slightly more expensive than a 5750 with aftermarket cooling? I would go for Kant's advice, although the XFX version comes with a double lifetime warranty (Pls check though) which others will go for.

I 'd say the Sapphire Vapor-X, I have used two of these in Crossfire and they are just awesomely awesome!

If you want to using NON reference card, choose Shappire Vapor-X 5750

cooler, and more silent than regular 5750

Powercolor HD5750 Passive SCS+ or whatever it's called. But honestly, i'd take HD5770 instead. It's at least nearly as fast as HD4870.

As recently discovered by various users, TPU users and myself included, if energy saving is a must for you, as it seems, avoid non reference cards unless you can confirm that it uses the proper voltage chip!! I have seen that not only the Gigabyte 585OC has this annoyance!

Thanks for your feedback. But what about the HIS ones? The iCooler IV is supposed to be really silent and cool as well.

Energy Saving is a must but top priority is performance and cooling. Because almost all 5750 are really power efficient. :cool:

There was a similar problem with Powercolor Go Green series of HD5750. It had lower power consumption but for some reason, in 2D idle mode it had higher power usage than the reference model.

The go green is shit. It reaches high temps of 90C+ I want a card that max goes 70C.

His also have a good card too, but Sapphire Vapor-X are Pre-Overcloked

with same price, Sapphire have a little bit faster than HIS.

Um yeah my Mobo is. Not my GPU. Asus GPUs suck. If I were you I would go with the HIS. Ive owned three and NEVER had a problem.

Yeah. Its about 10Mhz faster but because of the awesome cooler its highly overclockable. If I cant find that i'll settle for the HIS.

Got the 5750 Vapor-x & i love it the card run cool & quiet

I can overclock the card 950/1330 & still run under 70c in full (68c max) & fan never goes higher then 45% pretty much silent
I probably could get 60c or under in full with the fan at 80%+ but that would be noisy

Everyone has a company they have bad luck with and stay away from. Some people swear by MSI stuff, yet I'll never touch it again after having 2 GPUs literally smoke out my rig and a 3rd come DOA.

I don't swear by MSI ether. I had a 790GX board just say f#$K it one day and die on me.

Sorry guys but it's true we all have our companies of choice. Sapphire cards always live up to their title and am sure so does HIS and of late MSI cards(5K Series).
