hi I built my comp in oct o8 its had 3 different powersupply units since new one was faulty

ever since that powersupply unit the computer has never been the same

specs
maxumis 2 formular
q6600 OC model @333FSB seems stable LOL but the CPU has got a VCORE of 1.4 volts surely thats too high
1*HD4870 512
ABS/TAGAN 1100 BZ piperrock /thermaltake 700watt tough power/ (faulty one) OCZ Elite X stream 800watt
2*optical drives
2*seagate SATA2 250Gb on raid 0 config

problems crashing when I put stresse on teh mobo (not phyicsly as in oc) if I let the thing do the voltage by itself it puts wayyy to much in CPLL shouldn't be 1.8 o_O should it ? it never was that high when I first got the mobo. and this also happens with my good old thermaltake 700watt.

has the mobo been damaged ? if I put the cpu at 400FSB (like it has since I built it) it will be unstable.. RMAing the mobo tomoz to see however:shadedshu

What stepping is your Q6600? B3 or G0? Also, yes the board will overvolt the CPU Pll, you must set all of your voltages manually. What kind of NB volts are you using?

Have you tried using different ram? I would check to see if that was the problem before declaring the motherboard bad and sending it off to RMA.

Reset your bios and start over from scratch....You need to set the volts manualy.

I ran memtest if thats of any help nothing bad about my memmory which I forgot to state x_x they are OCZ 4Gb 1066 DDR2 they ARE running at 2.1 volt as for everything I left on auto this time around... if I try and set the cpu any lower it will go unstable. annother odd thing...memtest...it should pick up the chipset yes ?

I had the setting of 1.4 for 400FSB on teh Q6600 I belive its B3 rather than GO
northbridge runing at 1.5-6
1.1 at (guess)
CPLL runing at 1.6-1.7
memory at 2.1 (of course )
if I set it at these the comp will be unstable.

okay I can't run intels indenity utitiy nor the chipest indenty utity is there a reason for this ? o_O I used to be able to run them

and I can't seem to find my chipset, I can only find the south bridge

my q6600 is a b6 step in

Like the OP said reset your Bios (clear CMOS), run your Ram at default Vcore and timings then let us know how you get on!

If it helps, post what settings you've changed in your bios and that would give us a better indication of what might help you get a stable overclock
