I have used for a couple months with little to no problems and I just recognized in the bottom right hand corner it says Blocked: (my ip # shown). What happened and how do i fix it?

We're going to assume for the sake of legality that you're using BT as an easy way to get linux distros .

is there any way for me to check to see if it was my isp that did this?

Yeah, try posting on TPU ;). Hey, you're posting, your ISP has not shut down your internets. Okay, to test if the ISP is just blocking BT, I suggest you go to a friend that uses your ISP. Try BT out there, if it works, then your ISP is not blocking BT.

couldn't they just target me?

Probably, but why would they bother just shutting down your BT when they could make it easy and cut your internet completely?

if they caught me wonted they have just shut down my internet? I am so confused.

if they caught me

This would imply wrong doing..Dont HANG yourself..

Your still online, dont worry, just dont download CRAP

Is it being blocked by a firewall? How is your network configured? Do you connect directly from your computer to a broadband modem, or are you using a router? Is the IP showing as blocked a 192.168.x.xxx, or your ISP designated IP?

isp designated. and i am using modem>router>computer. I am wired

isp designated. and i am using modem>router>computer. I am wired

Have you tried changing the port that BT is using?

if your using a router try forwarding your ports as this happened to me, it was fine for a while and then all of a sudden it wouldnt connect. i forwarded the port and it was fine.

tbh bitcomet is shit now, i dont like it at all, the speeds have gone to pot, try utorrent it has nearly identical features and is a lot more stable/fast.

if you need help forwarding your ports just pm me with your router make/model ill help you out if i can

Blocked most likely means your ports aren't open which results in the inability to connect to people who didn't open the ports either. Check which port you are using and open/forward that port on your router. Problem solved.

ok to forward your ports follow these instructions:

ok open utorrent then you need to go to preferences on utorrent (looks like a little cog icon) and go to connection then it will tell you what port its using

now to configure your router you will have to go to windows start menu>run>cmd

a command line box will open. in the command line box type: ipconfig \all

this will give your ip address it will look somthing like this: 192.168.0.1 <<<, in your web browser you need to type your ip address

that will bring a login box up, from there you need to type in "admin" for the username and your isp password in the password box

once you have done that it should bring a page where you can edit all your settings, you need to look for a tab/link called "services" or similar and from there "add custom service"

just name the service "utorrent" and allow tcp/udp and type the port in what utorrent is using:toast:

I have one quick question. What if i use a proxy to try to hide my real IP. Would this help?
