Help with Powercolor RX 580 8GB 3DHDV2/OC bios

Hello.
Cleaning an old video card is a must.
After several years, the thermal paste and pads aren't making what they supposed to do.
So changing them is a must.
I do that to all my cards.
Why are you confused ?

Your card is not an RX 570 - it has more shaders than an RX 570. It is either an RX 480 or RX 580.

Exactly.
Due to the serial number on the GPU i would say that we have a RX480.
But this is my point of view.

I think you are right it is rx 480 and i will download bioses and try them tomorrow because i have night shifts all week
Thank you for your help

you are most welcome mate.

Hm. The picture you posted of the PCIe connector has a number: 109-D00947-00B_02. This nearly matches the board number for Sapphire RX 480: 109-D00947-00_02. I wonder if they reused the same board and gave it an updated Device ID to make it an RX 580 - Revision B. This probably means an RX 480 BIOS would work better, as the specific RX 580 BIOS for the Polaris 10 XT may not be available.

I have downloaded them all matching for my card

Good luck mate!

Tomorrow morning fight continues
With all your help good people i think something good will come out

Well, now it's time for testing.
Good luck mate!
Thank you

Hello again,i have tried every RX480 bios and no luck.Windows couldn't load drivers and showing error 31.Installed first Bios Imperator send me and

So here i go again with the search for the right BIOS

Now i'm looking for the right card with 1002 67df 1da2 e353 and Samsung K4G41325FE memory

Try this one:

It appears to be an RX 580 with the Polaris 10 XT, Samsung FE memory, and the correct ID.

All RX 480 BIOS-es without drivers where showed that i have Micron memory but with RX 580 BIOS you send me it is showing Samsung without drivers

Did you get a chance to try the one I linked above?

I think it is a good shot on that one.

I will try everything, after i try few more bioses i will check memory with python on linux-usb method

Post 3, you had the cooler off. It has Samsung memory. You don't need software to confirm at this point. Just try the bios's with Samsung memory, all others are useless to you.

I think i did because i tried every Bios with 1306/1750Mhz

I wanted to try memory for errors

Ok thanks will try

Looking closer, post 25, those memory chips look burnt.

You probably already had the correct bios, the card is probably foobar.

I will keep searching

Try this one:

After that bios i got this

What to do next?

I would make sure of that, by trying it again. There are over 1000 VBIOS in the database for the RX 580 alone.
I will definetly check memory with linux and python method

I will keep searching

That last bios is for rx480 because
Subsystem Id:174B

The think is, your GPU uses a "Polaris 10 XT" die, the one used in the RX 480. That Subsystem ID reflects that. The RX 580 used the "Polaris 20 XTX" die.

We are trying to find a BIOS that works with the Polaris 10 XT.

Ok guys.
Lets review one more time the facts - the ones that we can confirm :
1st - we have a serial number on the GPU that confirm for sure that it is a Polaris 10
2nd - we have the pictures of those memory chips that confirm for sure that we have Samsung FE

So we must find a BIOS for Sapphire Polaris 10 with Samsung FE

Those are the facts

You are probably right but only Bios that got me to a working gpu is first RX580,SHOWED Samsung memory without drivers. All others showed Micron

So here is a list of potential BIOS files. The column on the left is RX 480, right is RX 580. All have 4GB Samsung FE memory, appear to be working VBIOS files, and match the Device/Subsystem ID of the column they are in. I cannot guarantee any of them, but I think the RX 480 files may work better.

I will point out that I filtered by device and subsystem ID, so if none of them work it is probably due to an incorrect device ID. I had to take a guess based on the "E353" sticker near the PCIe blade.

Also, I have no idea why it is thinking you have Micron RAM, when none of the VBIOS files you tried even support it.

Wow that is a list i will tinker with in the morning ave maestro

Could it be that one of the ram chips is bad and bioses cant be read correctly in GPU-Z?
