Help with putting Intel Socket 478 Fan on GPU ?
First of all i want to ask how good is this fan that comes with the Pentium 4 Northwood 2.8 Ghz Socket 478 Processor ?

And i want to put this on my GPU Radeon 9250 and maybe on 7600 GT later .
Should i put only the fan or the heatsink also .

How should i put the fan on the GPU so that it stays there .

You wont need to upgrade the fan on a ATI 9250. As for the 7600GT maybe if you wanna do some extreme overclocking and your temps are holding you back. Otherwise just use the stock heatsink and fan.

Alrite , but how do i do it , i want to test it on 9250 b4 i do it on 7600 gt.

You would need to make a custom bracket to hold down the heatsink. Then you would need to make sure the card can support the added weight of the heatsink since it wasnt designed to do so.

when i did the cooler mod on my 7600gt i drilled holes through the heatsink and screwed it into place, i put springs in between the screws and the heatsink holes on the pcb, just to make sure i wasnt putting to much pressure on the core

I havent done any of this b4, but i'm willing to learn if someone can help me.
I understood that there will be added weight on the card. But what is a bracket . Is there any guide for doing this.

Its too heavy. Buy a deigned-for-the-purpose GPU cooler.

drill 2 or 4 holes in the corners of the heasink and use zipties to hold it in place, and zipties to make sure its not weighing the card down, i did this before with a socket A cooler on a 6600GT.

easy and effective m8

This was very generic, but it worked to see which was the better solution
Ended up staying with the Tt 922mm
