i just recieved 2 sticks of RDRAM each with 256mb of memory...i put them in my dads dell dimension 8200 that had 2x 128mb sticks of RDRAM. when i turn on the system it says the sticks in RIMM 3 & 4 need to be 40ns or higher..

it boots when i have the original memory in there..is there something i could do to get around this?
i know that the answer will probably be no...but i want to find out for sure =\

it probably means the ram is either too fast, or too slow.

RDram is so rare nowadays that i really dont know much about this issue.

have you tried with just the new sticks, removing the originals entirely?

yep i have and the same thing came up

well all i can suggest is that the motherboard is causing a conflict.

The only options i can think of:
1. update the BIOS
2. check for a bios setting related to the one causing the problem, and adjust it.
