HiFiMAN's new Deva is a planar magnetic headphone which doubles up as a Bluetooth headset when you attach the Bluemini device. Currently, the Deva bundled with the Bluemini retails at $299 which also makes it the most affordable of the current planar headphones from HiFiMAN.

So this was a way for them to take an existing pair of headphones and add bluetooth to it?
As I don't see any other benefit here, as most over-ear bluetooth headphones have a 3.5mm jack as well as a built in bluetooth module.

This is quite nice as you can technically "upgrade" the BT module compared to having it built-in. So instead of having an outdated headphone, you'll only need to replace the add-on module.

Makes sense as headphones last quite longer while retaining their sound signature, e.g. ATH-M40X/M50X for 6 years or MDR-7506 for 20+ years

I do not trust Hifiman's build quality. They have a notorious reputation of falling apart with time. I hope their new headphones have better build quality.

Ive used a pair of Sundaras for over a year and a pair of Anandas for about a year and they are both as good as the day I got them. It was mainly the models with the plastic hinges that were terrible for breaking. I dont know who thought that was a good idea, but if you see any brand using thin plastic at a point of possible pressure, dont believe any review about the quality and just stay away!

This headset has a lot of good going for it. That colour scheme though. White, silver or black would be great. But tan? Just gotta say no.

@frederik - do you know if there is tax and duties to be paid if ordered, from the Hifiman store, to Denmark?

@VulkanBros Those will most likely ship from China, so there would be VAT and a smaller percentage in import tax. If shipped with DHL it is usually around 150 DKK in handling, and then 25% VAT plus import tax. I think you should ask the team at HiFiMAN with this whole Corona situation, it is making it a little harder to get stuff shipped around the world, but it has been getting better the last month as shipping companies clear their backlog.

Good news HiFiMAN has now released the Deva without the Bluemini at just $219, which is an absolute steal.
Lol, I read that and pictured Professor Farnsworth saying it.
