hi guys today i noticed something strange after i saw my cpu temps raising to high when i put my ram on dual channel from single it goes from 73c to 93c what is happening?

Dual channel puts more strain on the CPU's memory controller and thus, makes more heat. It seems to me that your CPU is too hot regardless. You may need to re-apply new thermal paste.

Yes it actually does stress more the cpu's memory controller and makes more heat but not by 20c! Also i have re-applied thermal paste several times and it didnt work..

Are there any other settings that happen to be changing with it? Voltage, perhaps? NOt even on AMD CPUs with crappy IMCs does changing the RAM to dual channel have a 20°C penalty.

What program is this 73°C temperature appearing under? Try lowering your OC and seeing what happens when you attempt the same thing.

i have tried it with and without oc. It is appearing under hw monitor. I have to add that i am using water cooling. Stock with one memory dim i have 55c and when i install the second dim i have 65c.

I'm still not entirely convinced that these two are related. Double check that voltage etc. is the same when adding the second stick. I didn't mean to ask what monitoring program you're using, I wanted to ask what stress testing program is giving you these temps.

I am using prime 95 on stock setting..

thats an absurd fault a increment of 20c is pretty insane ...

and what are you using for temps?

No Prime95 on Haswell please. Just use OCCT for a run instead. OCCT will automatically stop @ 85°C so you'll know if it still happens.

take the board voltages off auto and set them back to manual
I bet the bios reverted to AUTO when you installed the new ram

Yeah i have checked that out already..
