HighPoint Technologies, a pioneering force in the storage industry for the past 19 years, is now shipping the industry's most affordable Thunderbolt 2 SATA Adapters - the RocketStor 6324L and RocketStor 6328L, to their global distribution and retail partners.

RocketStor 632xLseries Thunderbolt 2 SATA Adapter design is based on our proven SATA 6Gb/s technology, support industry standard AHCI devices, and utilize Thunderbolt 2 connectivity to maximize transfer performance. The RocketStor 6324L delivers Thunderbolt 2 speeds for up to 4 SATA devices via a single external Mini-SAS port. The RocketStor 6328L dual external Mini-SAS ports allows up to 8 SATA devices to share Thunderbolt 2 transfer bandwidth. Each external Mini-SAS ports can support any industry standard Mini-SAS and eSATA storage enclosure, including those with integrated RAID capability, or those hosting arrays created with Mac OS X's Disk Utility, via industry standard Mini-SAS and eSATA data cables, such as HighPoint's EXT-MS-1MEJ (external Mini-SAS to 4x eSATA) and EXT-MS-1MMS (External Mini-SAS to External-Mini-SAS).

RocketStor Thunderbolt storage adapters provide a clear update path and are ready for future Thunderbolt technology. Customers can easily integrate their existing Mini-SAS and eSATA storage devices into today's Thunderbolt capable systems, without worrying about compatibility with upcoming Thunderbolt host platforms.

Full Thunderbolt Certification for Mac and PC Platforms: HighPoint Thunderbolt product lines offer the peace of mind and hassle-free integration demanded by today's media professionals. RocketStor Storage Adapters are compatible with any Thunderbolt and Thunderbolt 2 host platform, and have been certified by Intel and Apple. Like all HighPoint Thunderbolt products, RocketStor Storage Adapters have been rigorously tested, and found to be fully TBT Compliant, for both Windows and Mac platforms.

Why did they make the enclosure so long [13.00”L x 6.89”W x 3.74H (33cm x 6,5cm x 9cm)], if it's only hosting a thunderbolt to eSATA controller and a DC powersupply ?

btw there's no cables in the starter kit.

You read the package size, or as they call it "Retail Box Dimensions", as in the box with everything in it all packaged up for sale. The device itself is only 6.99” x 2.57” x 3.62”.
