Homeworld 3 Performance Benchmark

so, basically Epic+RT setting translate in a more foggy (and a bit blurry sometime) image o_O
funny, some of them look better on Low

and RT bring nothing (i would say "as usual" but personal opinion, not generalisation ) aside FPS drop ...

got the full game with a magazine CD :D then i bought HW1 remaster, HW:C and HW2 (got DoK free ... but not a huge fan aside for the story, it did not feel like HW ... more like Total Annihilations, tbf )
It's just RT shadows so it doesn't have much of a performance impact. It brings more accurate shadows but only the first comparison shows this. The non-RT has the typical very sharp hard shadows everywhere. A lot of people seem to prefer these raster gaming shadows.

Most likely low has no TAA which is why you think it looks better in stills but that's still aren't a very good comparison for TAA.

So this game is campaign only? No skirmish?

I've only tried single player matches against the CPU and campaign modes but it looks like you can do multiplayer skirmish.

I was looking at that before scrolling to the relative chart. Lower end cards do quite well at 1080p and the game gets more CPU bound so higher end cards do pretty meh at 1440p and 4K, AMD's a little more so. And then there's the 7700 XT. Probably something that needs to be fixed in a driver update, same for the Arc A770.

Updated drivers for Intel GPUs came out today with Homeworld 3 Game Ready drivers, I wonder what the uplift for the A770 is?

Seeing a lot of reports on the game's quality I think I'll remain in a holding pattern for now... Looks like some stuff needs ironing out.

radio chatter: "Roger mothership, holding pattern established. Waiting for orders."

I bought it because there's no chance in hell I'm not gonna get a Homeworld game, but I might wait with playing it for a bit. I've got a massive backlog anyway so no probs.

It will be interesting to see these tests re-ran after Denuvo is removed.
