How about EasyTune?

Its always better to overclock from the bios. If you are just starting out, give Easytune a try. Its not that bad of a program. I'm actually using it to overclock this rig right now. Make sure you have the lastest version.

EasyTune came with my ma78gm-us2h and, although it was easy to use, it would "application quit working" after several hours. The nice part of using software instead of the bios is that apps like Cool 'n Quiet are not disabled when you increase the multiplyer, as it will be when you fiddle with the multiplyer in the bios. I OC'd my P2 940 the old fashioned way, with the fbus, that way my C 'n Q is still active.

Also, you'll notice that when using EasyTune all OC's are rejected by CPU-Z's validator.

i got easy tune with my mobo(see specs) and until i got the f8 bois the danm program would always hang and freeze my system. I also recommend doing it from bios. There is more than enuff willing ppl here to help wuth the individual settings. I also recommend TweakTown forums for Gigabyte stuff....they seem to be flooded with gigabyte posts

I like easytune it is good to start off with and get to know what your system can do. After you find a clock your happy with i would highly recommend setting it in the bios and stress test it. I used it to overclock a few CPUs on my old board. Its also good for suicide runs

Also what board do you have?

As an experienced amd user, I make the sign of the cross when I hear eztune.. Well it can help you figure out max clock, but then for gawd sakes uninstall it. It's always caused weird problems for me eventually. Learn your clocks from it, then use bios ocing!
