again, where did i say identical. i said same

Go look up the definition of those words. Or rather, I'll do it for you:

Definition of identical
1: being the same : selfsame
  • the identical place we stopped before
2: having such close resemblance as to be essentially the same
  • identical hats
—often used with to or with
3a : having the same cause or origin
  • identical infections
Definition of same
1a : resembling in every relevant respect
b : conforming in every respect —used with as
2a : being one without addition, change, or discontinuance : identical
b : being the one under discussion or already referred to
3: corresponding so closely as to be indistinguishable
4: equal in size, shape, value, or importance —usually used with the or a demonstrative (such as that, those) in all senses

There is no arguing symantics here, you literally said something and now you are trying to say you didn't.

now since you just want to argue semantics w/o showing that there is any difference, ya know that whole 4% in specs,

A difference in specs is a difference in specs. It certainly isn't the same.

like i said, you just want to argue semantics, when you find some actual evidence or proof to show me wrong then you'll have something.

i get it, it's YOUR precious thread and you don't want any criticism. fine, have at it and then just leave me out because you won't like what you hear.

other than that, the discussion is meaningless.

and? does being obtuse run in your family?

Last time I checked, knowing what words mean doesn't make a person obtuse. However, thinking the word "same" actually means "similar"...that might actually be a sign that someone is a little slow to understand.

read the edit but since you seem to not fully understand english . . words have a denotative and connotative meanings.

Most words have multiple meanings, which are categorized as either denotative or connotative. The denotation of a word is its explicit definition as listed in a dictionary. Let's use the word “home” as an example. The denotative or literal meaning of “home” is “ a place where one lives; a residence.”
Connotation refers to a meaning that is implied by a word apart from the thing which it describes explicitly. Connotative words carry cultural and emotional associations or meanings in addition to their literal meanings, or denotations.

i already stated that i had NOT meant identical, get a clue and move on.

The word "same" has no connotative meaning. Thre is no time when the word same actually means similar, never, ever. Same means same. At this point you're obviously just trying to cover for your mistake. Just own up to it. You believed that all the iGPUs on Intel's CPUs were the same(or identical), I proved you wrong. The difference might be minor, but they are very obviously not the same.

I'm not going to waste time with you anymore, have a good day.

the mistake i've made is not adhering to your insistence of the formal rules of english in an informal venue.

Formal or informal, the meaning of the word same does not change, it never means similar.

Looniam: whether you meant it or not, many of us have interpreted you to have the meaning newtekie is ascribing to. Be more careful with your wording to avoid contradictions and confusion, if you dont want to be questioned on it.

Beyond that, goddamnit can this be about the reviews and not about the english language already?
