How accurate is GPU-Z

As GPU-Z is not all that accurate with usage, how good is it with the 12v section as i am about to send my Seasonic back due to it reporting low 12v under use and seems that it keeps getting lower as before it was reporting 11.5 which is within Seasonics specs but a week ago it went to 11.40 and now even lower.

RMA's all setup just seeing what others think and maybe what Seasonics RMA process is like. Now i am using my very used Seasonic COUGH PC&Power which is like 7 year old now but under the same tests the voltage never drops below 11.5.

Have you double checked it with HWmonitor? Sometimes it's not the software, but maybe the rig. My server HWmonitor, btw reports that my 12v rail is running at 8v. LOL, what? But when switched into another rig it shows 12.02.

EDIT: Just noticed the up and down spiking that erocker noticed! Wow, I'd say it's the PSU! That and the fact your PC P&C unit is running much better clinches it.
 
Verify against other software is the next logical step to me...
 
The gpu load is spiking as well , surely its hardware.

That's what OCCT does. And no not for a long time now. All so this would have to be tested while it was running too.

EDIT: Apparently not with this other PSU and this is with a 493w load.

Checked with a fair few programs, the numbers are always dropping about the same amount, to me a drop of .50 has got to be close to Seasonics allowance ( 11.40v )

Spec (not seasonics, ATX I believe) is 5% from each rail IIRC.

+1 to W1zz, MM or bust. But if software is all you have, its best to check it across multiple apps.
 
Why don't you get a hardware PSU tester? Works totally independently of the PC and it can run a whole lot of diagnostics on your PSU. I've got a nice Thermaltake one.

For clarity, that device (the Dr. Power II) does nothing more than check voltages just like a mm. But, it does have an LCD and change colors, hence costing 3x more than a simple mm.. But it doesn't run diagnostics. It puts a simple load (I think 10W?) on the DC side of things to make sure the voltages are in spec.

If that is what you meant by 'a whole lot of diagnostics' (which its not) you are correct. :)

Had a similar problem with my old PSU (a corsair AX850), if overclocked my, at the time, single 290x would dip down to 11.3 volt and cause instability, even at 1050 MHz (this was with a 920 at 4 GHz and 1.3 V) got a BeQuiet darkpower 1200 W unit, much less of a problem (dips down to 11.8 V ) with my current system (5820 at 4.1 MHz ATM) the dips are even lower, and that is with two 290x at 1100 MHz and +50 % power limit.

And i did check the voltage on the pads for the 8 pin of the card with a multimeter, it read 12.16 V when the card was reading 11.5V

The AX850 is still working (powering the 920 at stock and two HD 6950). My initial theory was that the cables were a bit bad, and changing round with them did help a little. I also had serious spiking in GPU load like you have.
