You'll see a significantly larger FPS boost by tightening memory timings. I ran tests on this when I had RX 480/RX580s. Using a mining BIOS (for the memory timings only!) would net me over 10% performance increase across most games I play(ed).

And catch 22 is most mining cards here are not stable in gaming so they crash, hence why I help restore the cards to stock bios.

Mine were perfectly stable even with 200 MHz added to the memory clocks. You just have to play with it and tweak. I mean, it was nothing serious as far as timings go, they weren't super tight. I took my Samsung memory from 2000 C19 to 2000 C17 and the performance jump is crazy.

what software should i download to tighten the timings ?

You have to modify the BIOS, it's not software.

I would NOT recommend this if you aren't comfortable with the idea of bricking it. Though recoverable, it's a pain.

Best advice, in this situation, is to download a mining BIOS and stick it on your secondary BIOS. Give it a try and see what happens.

i have a dual bios switch

ok

when i flip the switch, should i restart my pc? edit: when i change to the second bios

Post your other bios here too, take some gpu-z screens in each position please

idk why but gpu-z says that bios reading is not supported on this device

Close all instances down and restart your system. Are you using the latest version of gpu-z or an older version?

That's how it was, but there is software to change the memory And clocks including timings, I. Use it with my vega but it works on polaris too, it was posted here on TPU and works well, I can't copy the link to paste it here in my phone but it's listed on the Vega club header page within TPU forum.

Saves a bios flash and has saved profiles so it's easy to use. I'll try and paste it.

I tried many bios over the last few years and while water cooled the mining clocks worked well, on air they didn't prove stable for me to game on.
I no longer bios flash, that software is enough.

I was made for/during the mining era/boom it does work on earlier drivers.
You can't use adrenalin drivers? Why they are free downloads from AMD which add features not just performance including chill , anti lag and fidelity Fx .

with adrenalin, i can't adjust over scan (my tv is crap and i can't change it in the settings)

see
