How did someone interrupt my internet?

Video Card(s) Nvidia GeForce GTX 660M / 2GB GDDR5 or Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000
So I was playing a video game (counter strike source), and I had someone, who sounded like he was in his 30s or late 20s, become very irritating on the mic. i.e. screaming, singing, making strange noises. So I literally said "Dude, can you stop with making so much noise? It's getting rather annoying". Apparently rather than be mature about it, he proceeded to make threats.

He started saying "Don't make me stop your internet". And not believing him, I was saying "ok dude whatever." After more words thrown back and forth, I soon found out my internet stopped working.

If anyone plays this game or has knowledge of this game, you know that it's not very difficult to find someones I.P. (on most servers). But I'm wondering how the heck did he or does someone like that stop another persons internet connection? Use some hack to send a lot of packets and interrupt it?

I know you weren't there to witness it, but I'm wondering if anyone has run into this issue or knows anything.

Yeah, that is pretty much the only thing hackers can do in my experience. Is ping an IP address so many times it slows down to unusable speeds, however, this also requires resources for them to do this, so unless he leaves his computer on 24/7 targeting your specific IP address you have nothing to worry about.

Hackers are pussies, don't worry about them. Flood me bitches, do it. I gotta bounce anyway in a few to chill with a few shorties. Peace.
