how do i remove programs from the windows start up list?

you know, the programs in the lower right hand corner, they start when vista start which is annoying and can slow my rig down. i have done it before but i forgot.
 
Start>>>run >>>>msconfig!
 
ccleaner also is a handy tool for this. Download ccleaner go to tools then startup. You can delete them from there, but if they have a setting in the program themselves to turn it off then it will most likely make another copy of it and it will still be there. But, yeah, MSCONFIG disables it.

well...that is what the "c" in ccleaner stands for.:laugh:
 
Winpatrol and Startup control panel 2.8 are two useful utilities for this kind of thing - or you can just individually reconfigure each application !

i dont need more programs:cool: now i just have AVG, steam and messenger starting when i boot.
