I googled how to enable rage mode... all I get is the game God of War... lol I looked through all the driver settings, I saw nothing called Rage Mode... @W1zzard any ideas?

"change Performance - Tuning via Radeon Software to Preset. have to activate the Rage option" but i still don't see the option there... someone help please!

it should be somewhere here, but I am not seeing anything. I even searched for "Rage" in the search bar below, and nothing came up

As far as Smart Access Memory goes, I thought I had it enabled but I was wrong, just follow these steps:

thank you! ah, bummer, that is ok! I just tested in Witcher 3... 165 fps at 165hz, didnt even break 68 celsius on cpu and didnt break 73 celsius on the 6800... fully maxed out at 1080p. only 180 watts drawn on the gpu... 75w on the cpu... held 165 frames consistently even in the city. SAM enabled.

absolutely freaking insanely powerful lol... I seriously can't stop laughing, the fans didn't even ramp up after 30 mins... amazing...

You can just manually increase the power target.

Will do, thanks. Now I just need to save up for my dream monitor summer of next year, 3440x1440 160hz+ panels hopefully some new models will be out by then.

This system is awesome, so happy with it! Thanks for everyone's help, cheers

For your needs it sounds perfect.

It's kind of insane... we never thought AMD could design a decent cooler and yet here it is.

in regards to the thermal pads on the other thread, do you think I should remove them? seems like Steve smothered his. so I wasn't sure what to do. everything seems ok so far so eh

He's a moron. Did you watch the video of how he disses the 6800xt cooler? The cooler that AMD design is their best cooler yet and compared to previous AIB partner coolers, I'd say it's better. And for him to prattle on about how its a poor design, blah blah blah... in the face of the temps during testing at stock, I mean the guy is an idiot.

That said, if you're gonna use pads, I'd stick to just the vrm areas. It's one thing to suggest using pads but its a whole other to cover the whole pcb in the stuff. There's no longterm testing so you have to take it at his word. And like yea, his words are often moronic.

also @W1zzard
hey just an fyi, this worked!!!! same benefits as rage mode lol. my 3d mark time spy graphics score went from 14934 to 15385, and all I changed was the power slider and a slightly more aggressive fan curve. my rx 6800 doesn't even break 60 celsius in timespy, with a 83 hotspot that didn't last very long. my fan curve hits around 75% fan speed at 70 Celsius. more aggressive than stock. the fans are not super loud at that speed either... pretty happy with this setup. fantastic.

once new mobo bios comes out and software like gpuz and msi afterburner are more finely tuned alongside a couple driver updates, i will try actual oc'ing, but for now im super happy! :rockout: thanks for all the help everyone

@thesmokingman I'm going to sleep on it, but you are right, I don't agree with his take on how it is a bad designed cooler. I actually feel AMD's stock fan profile is a little low. the fans are not even that loud at 75%, they could have aimed for 60-65% ramping of the fans quicker, temps wouldn't have even broke 70 celsius then. also, just holding this GPU in my hands, it truly feels high quality. more so than any AIO I have ever owned even, though to be fair I tend to buy the cheaper AIO's. this thing is heavy.

I am not breaking 60 celsius now that I am cranking fans to 75%, and its honestly not that loud. I also like that AMD is not using paste on their cards now... will never have to open it ever... pretty cool innovation that has been overlooked, imo.

that's EXACTLY what rage mode does. The BIOS has 4 vendor-defined values that rage mode overrides: power limit, temperature target, rpm target and acoustic limit.

lol AMD is quite silly for marketing Rage Mode as a copyrighted entity, but it's all good lol

AMD is also silly for not making the stock fan curve just slightly stronger, cause temps would never even break 80 celsius on this card if they had. they are well designed fans, quiet imo, though my case has sound dampening foam so eh I don't know
