i just got 2 kingston 256 mb ddr 3200 (400mhz) memory cards and i want to use it as duel channel memory. but i also have a kingston 512 mb ddr 2700 (333mhz) memory card . what i wanna know is, what is better, duel channel or use all three memory cards? which will give me a great performance?

AMD Athlon XP 3200+
MSI K7N2 Delta2-LSR
2*256 MB kingston 3200 dual
512 mb kingston 2700
MSI ATI Radeon 9550 128 mb @ 9600 pro 400/250

Hey

The 2 PC3200 would really out perform the single PC2700. I don't think you can add that PC2700 if you have the 2 3200's in there. Just one single PC3200 is faster than the 2700. So go with the 2 3200's if you want best performance. Dual channel is really great for performance.

Hope it helps-Dan :D

i tried using 2 3200 as dual channel and it gave me a great performance at playing games . but when i do the cd back up and other stuff my pc got super slow . my pc was using memory more than it has . so i installed all three memory and forced it to run at 400mhz and everything works a lot faster now. i can play games, burn cd, and do other stuffs at the same time. but memory bandwidth got slower. it cut down to 32 instant of 64(dual channel). but than games speeds got a bit slower . so any suggestion? thanx 4 the replies.

Dual channel doubles the speed at which the ram is accessed. PC 3200 runs at 3.2gb/s, and PC 2700 obviously runs at 2.7gb/s. If you were running dual channel with PC 3200, this makes you run at 6.4gb/s. Kinda makes you a little jealous of Intel's capabilities of PC 4200 dual channel, eh?

How about AMD's DDR625 dual channel capabilities

AKA PC-5000 :p

Shwing, didn't know about that. K, Intel still sucks now. :p
