! EVGA beats the lightning version !:confused:

Its called being CPU bound google it.

the i7-4770K is a professional at Crysis 3 xD

Crysis 3 is a CPU hog. Don't really matter what proc you throw at it, it saturates 4 cores and that's that. HT is useless here and a higher clocked i5 will bring more performance.

Also, seeing as these are different format benchmarks, there is a driver and possibly even platform/cpu difference in there too.

Different systems and drivers will yield different scores, agreed. However, look at the reference 980Ti... there is a difference of 21 FPS @ 1600x900, and only 4 FPS in 1080p. Some dramatic settings changes had to happen there.

That said, look where you got the images from and see if you can find differences in the testing settings.

Either I keep missing them or there is no explanation on what settings are used in each benchmark. I would love to see data at least linked in every article.

@Elkhawaga At 1600x900 the game is more CPU bound than GPU. IT doesn't matter how many overpowered GPU's you throw at it at a low resolution. Increasing CPU speed through overclocking or even a stronger CPU are what will change the results in that scenario.

If I remember right those are apples and oranges... one is with skylake older are ivy bridge rig?

It shouldn't matter (that) much in Crysis... the difference between the CPUs is what an average of ~5% IPC? 21FPS between the same card, same res, same game and settings, is not drivers and a new CPU.
