*As far as using the Q-Tip, you just want to be careful that you don't harm any pixels around it. I really wouldn't recommend doing this, unless you have funds for a new monitor in your budget.

damn. I let jscreenfix run for like a half hour and it didn't fix any of my deadies. I'll let it run while I'm at school tomorrow...
 
You really don't want to run that program too long or too often. You'll just end up doing more damage. You should try to get your hands on a 19" Widescreen! It's upgrade time! You will like a bigger screen a lot more than you think.:)
 
I went from a CRT to a 19'' wide and it made a world of difference. Trust me you DO want a new monitor!
 
I just want to fix the dead pixels on this one... it's actually a really nice monitor
 
There is no real fix for dead pixels, only the two methods I mentioned and they generally do not work.
