How long would an i7 last before it becomes substandard?

That's not a fake hat but think about when this all started? The large coolers began in the era of late P4.

I am excited that Intel is moving away from their regular design to something I could really use.

Speaking of Gulftown, did you see the stock coolers for them yet?! Pretty nifty if you ask me.

Gonna go ship my MSI 785G AM3 back to NE in a moment, I hope UPS isn't closed. i7 just seems like the way to go if you're on a budget. I know it sounds ironic, but the extra boost of performance from a mediocre i7 versus the highest end AM3 setup is well worth the slight bit of extra money.
