This is driving me nuts, because it happens a lot in games. In my searching I have found info saying unchecking Turn on toggle keys in Ease of Access, and unchecking Animation Effects in Accessibility>Visual Effects removes it, but it's still there even after rebooting.

Notifications - Focus assist/Do not disturb/Priority only.
I don't know how it is currently (and how will change again lol) but that's one of 1st things I do after installing win 10/11. No any damn "pop-up" with this enabled.

I already had Notifications turned off and Do not Disturbed checked when it was happening. As I said above unchecking the two boxes in Settings>Accessibility>Keyboard>Notification preferences solved the problem. ;)

DAMN, the problem is back!

At first unchecking those two boxes stopped the Capslock On/Off popup, but now it's still popping up! And those two boxes are still unchecked.

I'd like to personally wring the neck of the idiot at MS responsible for this poorly implemented feature!

Do you run a 3rd party keyboard app? I know some of the newer fancy RGB programmable keyboards use a dedicated app and maybe the setting is in there. Just a stab in the dark.

It's funny you ask that, because I use a Bloody B840 keyboard that you can DL a software tool to make adjustments called Key Dominator. I had the KD 2 version installed before, but had deleted it. So I tried installing it again, as I was able to disable the Tilde key in a game I was playing (Doom Eternal I think) where I kept accidently hitting that key when trying to hit 1 to bring up grenades (which brought up the game's command console). I was able to disable that key, but I'm not sure you can disable any keys in KD 3. I've yet to be able to find a way to and can't even find instructions on how to.

or maybe change it to just act as a different key?

It is indeed a brand. It’s the gaming sub-brand of A4Tech.
^This, and this particular model garnered the fastest key actuation tested via a TPU review with it's "Light Strike" design.

As for the am I British part, I sometimes ponder if I deep down in my ancestry have that James Bond vibe, or that could just be me fantasizing! :D

Regarding the ongoing Capslock notification popup problem, I found a DL copy of Bloody's Key Dominator 2, which I was able to disable the Tilde key with in Doom Eternal. So hopefully it works for Capslock too.
