I see in some of the .inf's in ExtRtk folder [DeviceExtension_Install.Components] has extra items.
How can I / what is the requirement to, install OVWrap2 component?

The requirement is the hw codec supports it.
If it's installed then system codec supports it.

The inf has hw ids and so has the installed componente by checking the Proprieties, Details, the select Hardware ID in the drop-down box, so the driver/inf also must have present this.

Not all Realtek driver packages contains all the Extensions/Add-ons, so its crucial to identify the CODEC HW of the system (ALCxxxx) and in your case a driver package with Nahimic support

Regarding your specific question, the Realtek OVWrap2 Component has the ID: swc\ven_10ec&ovid_xxxx (Realtek - SoftwareComponent)

Your ASROCK uses the
  • 7.1 CH HD Audio (Realtek ALC897 Audio Codec), Nahimic Audio (UAD), product support page lists the 9381.1, but you can search for more recent ones.

Hi,
Try the MS store app

The mother board manufacture will also have a driver you'd need to install if not already.

Thanks for the responses. Sorry I wasn't clear.

The pic is not from my system. I know how to find HWID's and I know what hardware I have.

I have audio working fine, including drivers and the control panel.

I'm interested in installing a component that isn't provided for my motherboard.
I see the component included with drivers for a different board with the same ALC897.

Many here are using effects "not included" with their boards, and I thought this software component could be installed the same way.
It's "OpenVINO Wrapper"
I'm wondering if it's possible to modify an .inf or something to install this component.

Thats making helpers lose their time... please do not do that again.
You can't install additional components if the HW CODEC/OEM design implementation of the CODEC doesn't support it, the inf of a component can be manually installed but has not effect since is not used.
Some Realtek driver packages "modified" are around, but its not granted for all mb models/alc codecs, to accept the mods and/or additional components.
Identification process i already explained.
Over_n_Out.

Hi,
There's a big thread here

OK, but please read carefully before answering and remember not to make assumptions so as not to waste my time. Over.

I did... and looked at your specs, did you state that's this was from another system, you didn't...
My assumption is the same as others, primary look in to the user specs when nothing else is mentioned.
So, what do i have to read carefully???

And this wasnt your time lost, it was mine, that tried to help a user that provided incomplete information on a forum.
