Ok, so im trying to learn a new field today; overclocking. as you have understood already, im a super noob when it comes to overclocking, so i hope i can get some help and advises from you lot.

i just wanna learn how i can simply overclock my current cpu, which is a i5 6400k 2.70ghz. my specs are what you can see in my profile. here i have made a video of my settings in my bios, so i hope it gives you any clues on which settings i should change etc:

i did try to read the beginners guide as well as the programs needed, but im still unsure on how to do this...

how do i do this? what are my steps?

thank you in advance for pointers and help!

This CPU doesn't excist...

You need a K CPU and yours isn't one of them...

If you are in luck and you got an old BIOS version (2015~begin 2016) on your motherboard then you could try BCLK overclocking... IF your motherboard allows that....

Non - overclockable CPU with a non-overclockable motherboard:

Short answer: you can't.

Under advanced turbo mode what are the options ?

Oh... bummer that then. so i will have to simply buy a new overclockable cpu, or i have to buy both motherboard + cpu in order to be able to oc?

You'll need a K CPU with a Z motherboard.

If you are not in the mood to purchase a new CPU, you can get a Z170 motherboard that supports BCLK overclocking but you'd likely have to flash a specific BIOS image.
