How to recover files off a HDD from a deleted partition? help!!!

Ok guys ive made a big mistake and didn't realize that i haven't backup up my GF's data from her HDD before i deleted the partition. I have not formatted the drive in anyway just deleted the partition. Ive googled around and notice that it is possible to recover the partition , but i just wanted to ask on here first to see what others have done etc? and what program is the best to use to do so?

Her HDD is a slave drive at the moment, and has windows XP installed on it.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Lets hope i get her files back or im a dead man.

She doesn't know yet :o
 
use EasyRecovery Professional 6.4[ you might want to use this afther download and instal(ER82RE-25A44H) enjoy
 
It used to be you could re-create a partition after deleting it and you would have all your stuff back to normal. Dunno what it's like now, haven't had this particular problem since the Fdisk/FAT32 days.
 
I used a program called testdisk-6.9.win to rebuild the partition table once, worked very well.
 
Thanks for all the replies, i will consider all of them at this stage. My m8 says he has a program that he uses to do this sort of thing so im going to let him have ago first and see what happens, otherwise its back to what you guys suggest ;)

Thanks for your reply. I used my m8s program and it worked like a dream, recovered all the files and also deleted ones from yrs back, was amazed how well it did. Next step is i will use that Partition Table Doctor to recover the deleted partition. Thanks for the link :toast:
 
Oh, partition table doctor is a good partition recovery software, you can download it from official site:

but it can only support DOS, Windows 9x, ME, NT, 2000, XP, 2003, not support Windows 7,Vista, 2008.

Yea it worked very well on XP, and yea my m8 found out it didnt work on Se7en the hard way lol
 
I see you didn't mention what program it is your m8 introduced you to that helped you get it done.

Yea that's right, i asked him whats a good program to use and he said he had this one so i gave it ago and it worked. He worked at the time at a computer shop and had access to certain programs ;)

O sorry i didn't realize i hadn't said what program i used. Crap i don't have it on my computer anymore i formatted and ill have to ask my m8, ill get back to you asap on that.
 
I have always used ontrack for data recovery. Works very well.
 
OnTrack is good stuff. And, when only the partition data is deleted, essentially nothing is lost.
 
These paid data recovery software are well, which are recommend by many users on all kinds of forum.

But I aways use recuva, it is free.
 
Ok i finally found out what i used and it was called Ontrack easy Recovery Pro :)
