Had to sell my 7950's recently because of financial issues so am rocking a 8800gts 320MB as a temp card, only issue is it has no HDMI (I have no adaptors either) is there anyway I can run my monitor on the 8800GTS DVI and my HDTV through the HDMI on my motherboard (IGP)

Hi

May be this; Source - http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3853#manual

Example
Onboard vga Enable.jpg

atb (all the best)

Law-II

Yea, I've done that, installed HD 3000 drivers etc though Windows only shows my monitor connected to the GPU

The answer is no you can't. You have to have the connection on either one or the other. So can you connect both to the IGP?

No, my monitor is 1440p and needs dual link dvi-d the onboard is only single link dvi afaik

set IGP as primary display device. games won't use the 8800GTS though. you can still run the monitor off of it though, no problem.

Shouldn't Lucid Virtu use MoBo graphics outputs with discrete GPU? That motherboard should support Virtu.

EDIT:

I see now you need to run DVI from GPU

Tried lucid virtu, the IGP still isn't being recognised while the GPU is primary, tried setting onboard as primary in BIOS and PC would hang on Windows startup (thinking there's a driver conflict with the Intel and NV drivers perhaps?) Anyway issue solved, I managed to buy a GTX 280 for a good price off Ebay (£45) which has HDMI and is still capable of gaming so I'm fairly happy, thanks for all the suggestions :toast:
