Hello,
How do I unlock the bios on the asus mew-vm mobo? 3991 OC'd this from 433 to 455 using "CPUFSB" and he can't get it any higher (due to the fact its an HP locked bios). I want to know how to unlock the bios so we can have full control (like fsb, multipliers, voltages, etc) ... note - the processor is a "mendocino" core.

thanks! :)

Matt

edit - it's out of warranty, so who gives a flying crap if it is OC'd

There is no way to Unlock the BIOS for that board.

Well the most recent BIOS version available is HP only, Core Version 4.06 BIOS REV 1.03 08/20/99.

The Board is made by ASUS (ASUS HAWK) for HP only, ASUS never made a BIOS for the HP version.

It is rather outdated and was plagued with problems and was a nightmare to run stock let alone OverClocked.

Software is the only way, and even then, GOOD LUCK. They are so Plentiful and full of problems that they sell for $10 U.S. or less, if any one still wants one. There are plenty for sale, because nobody wants them.
