Hello everyone,

I got a HP Probook 650 G2 laptop but can't get wifi working. Wired connection works good. There's no wifi adapter in Device Manager. Wifi button in the upper right corner is in orange. When i press it, the only thing it does is turning airplane mode on/off. Downloaded and installed all newest official drivers from HP website, ran HP Support Assistant software utility, updated BIOS, looked in there for any clue of wlan/wifi etc... nothing. External wifi antenna with Atheros drivers works fine. Can someone help me to get internal wifi adapter working? How else can i check if it's connected to PC properly without disassembling laptop? Thanks in advance.

no wireless in the device manager means either the card is dead or not even there maybe driver not installed but it should still be seen in Device manager......Did you try "Scan for new hardware" to see if Device Manager picks it up?

EDIT Did the internal wireless ever work on the laptop for you?

Even if its fitted it should show up in device manager irrespective as to if the Internal Antenna are connected or not
This is a case where only a visual inspection will help diagnose/determin if you have a wireless card fitted.
Time to Open up that laptop (inspection plate on Base ????)
If you do not feel competent to dissasemble if there is no access plate then take it to someone who can or take it to a Shop

Look what i've found when opened laptop ;D slot for wlan is empty. I have to find another adapter. Thanks for answers, guys!

The cheapest and 100% compatible option is any Intel M.2 wifi card. They cost less than $10 used (7265NGW etc.).
For the sake of reliability and compatibility avoid anything from Mediatek/Ralink and Qualcomm/Atheros.

By default it comes with Broadcom BCM943228 or WN8601L(e.g. Realtek 8188) but both are crap.
