HYTE, the PC components, peripherals, and lifestyle brand of iBUYPOWER, today, released its new mid-tower case, the Y40. Y40 is HYTE's second case to defy industry standards by removing the corner pillar and providing a completely unobstructed view of the inside of the case.

Continuing the design ID of its predecessor, the Y60, the HYTE Y40 will feature a two-piece panoramic tempered glass design for a clear view of the system, but in a more traditional PC case shape. The tempered glass side panel can easily be removed via a now tool-less tab located at the back of the panel while the front piece takes on a more stationary role. The tower form of Y40 will feel familiar to consumers yet, remains unique in both feature set and architecture.

"Y40 is an expression of harmonic performance, function, and aesthetic that blossoms as a multi-dimensional symphony," said Rob Teller, Lead Roadmap Architect of HYTE. "It defines a new tier of artistry in the chassis category."

Each Y40 comes equipped with an included PCIE 4.0 riser cable for exclusive vertical graphics card (GPU) mounting and expanded compatibility for up to a 422 mm x 94 mm, four-slot card. Behind the GPU, Y40 hosts space for up to six half height expansion cards.

With two pre-installed 120 mm fans, one in the rear for exhaust and one mounted below the PSU shroud to supply fresh air to the GPU, HYTE Y40 takes on a similar airflow path as the Y60. To further assist with system thermals, the cavity under the PSU shroud features HYTE's new cable "shelf" which allows cable management to sit further back within the case and away from airflow zones that may impact GPU cooling.

Y40 will provide support for up to a 280 mm all-in-one (AIO) liquid cooler mounted to the side and up to a 360 mm AIO mounted on the top. The front IO of Y40 features a square power button, two USB Type-A ports, one USB Type-C port and a 3.5 mm combo jack for easy accessibility and connectivity. Y40 will be available in three color ways, black with a black interior, white with a black interior and red with a black interior.

For customers looking for an out of the box, pre-built Y40 system, iBUYPOWER, the sister brand of HYTE, will make available several RDY and custom configured systems. The Creator RDY Y40BG201 will feature Y40, an Intel Core i9 13900KF, RTX 4090, Z790 motherboard, 2 TB M.2 SSD and Windows 11 pre-installed for easy setup.

Y40 will be on display during CES 2023 at the iBUYPOWER and HYTE exhibit located in Titian 2306 at the Venetian.

Pricing & Availability
HYTE Y40 will be available for purchase immediately for a starting MSRP of $149.99 USD from HYTE.com, Amazon, Newegg and other select global retailers. To learn more about Y40, please visit: https://hyte.co/Y40PR

iBUYPOWER systems featuring the HYTE Y40 will be available for purchase in January 2023. To learn more about Y40 systems, please visit: https://ibp.gg/y40-PR

Nice design language.
The pci-e riser is a good solution for current gen monstrous size graphics cards.
Solves the problem while leaving half height spaces for any capture / LAN / storage add-in cards.

abysmal RGB trend ruined cases. It's almost impossible to find solid cases without any light pollution, every case brand caters to this horrible tempered glass trend. I don't even get it. How do people play dark atmospheric horror survival games, christmas-light decorating your case ruins immersion.

There's only so many different ways too do the same rectangular box to fit a pc in...

Looks nice enough, file it under the "o11 inspired" category (it's actually much more original than other similar attempts)

Also known as Y4D.

Not capitalizing on that joke seems like a big pr failure :D

turning them all off is not always so easy. also, imagine paying the RGB tax on PC hardware and having to turn all of it off when it's action time

I agree. Anyone who buys an ATX board to use in this case is wasting their money as there is no way to use anything other than the 16x slot... I don't use much more than the 16x slot in most machines I build but I on occasion will install a sound card or a USB card (or at the very least a USB 3.0 to FP 3.0 adapter) and having that flexibility is nice.

Fractal, Antec, and Silverstone all make cases without glass and RGB and all 3 are fairly popular (well maybe not Antec anymore) this guy probably Googled "gaming computer case" and didn't look much further than the first page.

I've been a PC gaming since 93, I'm not sure you were born when I already pulled Quake allnighters on LAN parties, a little more respect if I may ask. God, why are PC nerds so arrogant. That's my only problem with this community.

Fractal torrent is the only worthwile "solid" case, Antec, Silverstone and even the be quiet! SILENT BASE 802 sucks at thermals.

I don't recall ever saying that solid cases aren't available, it's just 99% of new cases are glassed, what's so hard to understand?

Saying that is implying that they aren't readily available. Also, there is more than one solid panel case with thermals that don't suck for example: the Fractal Meshify C, and the Focus 2. I've built machines with both and they both have cool temperatures.

The replies were respectfully on par with the original comment. There are thousands of computer cases that fit a variety of needs. You were literally complaining about a cosmetic issue and not anything functional with a case just because it doesn't seem to fit your desired criteria. Different strokes for different folks. Also, the gate keeping comes off a bit boorish.

@Argyr

Instead of the angry faces, you should look harder. : D

This is coming from somebody, who's also gayming since '93 (well, probably started a bit earlier, but '93 was the year I got my NES, then later, in '95, my first PC), and put about 8k hours or so in the Quake franchise, ending up playing div1, and attended, even organized countless LANs. : >

I don't know how this is relevant though. Mindenesetre valahonnan ismerős a neved. : D

I’m biased but just want to mention that Silverstone makes some pretty great cases. Some mediocre ones as well, but there are enough winners to make up for them.
