Hi, I recently opened up my hp a6077c and I was shocked to see it was merely a 250W PSU. I thought it would be at least 300W.

Anyways, I found out it was a Bestec so I googled it and this is what its dimensions are:

Dimensions: 140L x 150W x 86H mm (5.5" x 5.9" x 3.4")

I only found one card that had those same numbers, but I don't know whether it's in the same order as my Bestec one( L x W x H)

Could someone please help me buy a PSU? I can't seem to find one with the right dimensions.

Ive changed PSUs inside Micro ATX HP cases of all varieties and any standard ATX PSU fits. You should have no issue as long as you aren't trying to put in an oversized 1,000w PSU in there (and even then the problem is usually length, not width).

are you getting a new PS "just because" or do you really need one?(if you want to upgrade ur hardware OR your PS is now dead and needs to be replaced and you just need a replacement for the origional)

like above "Usually" most PSs are close in size, some are longer (usually the more powerful ones) But some cases use a physically smaller PS. Take a look at the outside part (where the mounting screws and plug go) and compare the one you want (Newegg has good picts to compare stuff)

If you could get the model # of your Bestec that would help too.

Here is a couple examples (odd size micro atx PS)

here is a standard "ATX" model (and an EXCELLENT basic PS replacement)

Ive dealt with my fair share of prebuilt HP and Compaq computers, and chances are he is looking at the Bestec ATX-250-12Z Rev XX. It is a std size PSU that they have been using for the last 5+ years. Ive replaced a lot of them with no issues :D

if thats the one its a bit shorter than reg PSs... So as long as you have a bit of space between the DVD and PS a Reg ATX power supply should be fine.

Yeah but there's better ones for the money. Did your PSU explode? Are you upgrading components? Why are you switching?
