I think my gpu might be broken in need of help!

Turn on vsync.

Can be...
But if there is a bad aliasing, that means that the in-game settings are too low - push AA to 4x, 8x, etc...

Also, it is very important to check what driver version you are running.

Download the latest 22.5.2 WHQL from AMD.com.
Disable your internet connection.
Uninstall the installed Radeon driver from the Control panel.
Install the downloaded 22.5.2 WHQL version.
Turn your internet connection on again.

This is done because Windows has a bad habit to automatically install the wrong/older drivers.

I think the screen tearing is what he meant. He even said he didn't know what to call it.

So I have a basically whole new build and when I play games I just get bad anti-aliasing I don't know if that's what's its called but basically in every game I play there's alot of shimmering, blurry textures in the distance, and lines like making a kinda staircase effect I dont know if its just cause im gaming on 1080p or its my pc.

PC Specs:

6700xt

750w RMx corsair psu

B560M PRO auros ax motherboard

intel i5 10400f

16gb ram vengeance lpx

noctua cooler nh15s
Props on the specs.
If you looking for the best for bang for the buck gaming PC this is it.
10400/11400 depending on the price where you at for CPU and 6700xt is faster and cheaper than 3060ti for GPU.

They say "blurry textures in the distance". By applying V-Sync you will make that worse, not better. Also, the FPS will degrade.
I need to see what's happening in order to give more opinions.

well that's 1080p.

buy yourself a nice 1440p monitor and enjoy the massive visual upgrade with just a ~33% performance penalty.

Without actually seeing what's happening, it's hard to tell what's wrong. Would you show us a video or screenshots of the observed effects - also the settings of the particular games?
So, I went through playing r6, far cry 6, fh5 recording the gameplay, basically in these videos I'm showing where there's just a lot of lines breaking and shimmering. In all these games I'm on 1920x1080p and the highest settings, v-sync on.

R6 - On the bus there's a lot of broken lines

Far cry 6- Blurriness in the distance and just a lot of broken lines and shimmering everywhere in the distance.

FH5- The lines on the railings as I drive

If the videos are low quality theres a setting to put them to 1080p to see what Im seeing clearly

I already RMA'd my gpu once and my motherboard plus psu are both new. Does anyone else have this on 1080p builds or know if this isn't normal my monitor is also 60hz if that makes a difference. I'm very thankful for the replies though.

My drivers are all updated to the latest version but I haven't tried any of those settings yet as I've seen that those only work on dirextx9 games for amd. I have also push all in game settings to the max.

For nothing I guess...

Looks fine to me.
I don't see any issues in the last 3 videos.
Don't see anything abnormals.

In Forza you can try turning on MFAA via the nvidia control panel.

When your games are all online, you lose that last little bit of control of video card settings/performance.
Servers that can't handle the Load, high ping, etc. (badly ported console games sometimes)

Get your eyes checked. Nothing wrong with the vids, ever think game code being from console coded games ported to pc being an issue?

this is exactly how 1080p looks like.
it's a low resolution... modern games with more detail than ever look either very smeary and blocky because even a smaller object that looks like real in 4K has like 40 pixels on a 1080p screen.

i still recommend to go on and leave 1080p where it belongs. in the Playstation 3 Era.

There is absolutely nothing wrong, those are normal artifacts games have. I think you are wasting your time looking to solve a problem that doesn't actually exists.

On Far cry its a filter problem and no physical problem, some (a bunch of then) games the AA is nasty on 1080p and others its a total masterpiece like shadow tomb raider and back4blood. You cannot see any crooked line and the textures are VERY sharp!

For me AA is a problem too, its rare to work well, sometimes it do not work or it just blurry all textures. The last game I've played with the nastiest AA was chernobylite, on ultra you cannot see any single decent texture so I lived it on low barely working but not affecting the sharpness.

On Forza it seems like a filter problem too, here this game the AA worked very well.

I know what you feeling, probably you spend a good amount in this pc and expect the games work very well. So even if you have a 3090 with 12900k and expect it runs perfectly, you could be very disapointed...

Throw it out of the window!!!
