I'd be surprised if this was actually covered in any review. My hunch would be a 2600k but I wouldn't spend anything on a hunch.

That's a bit difficult to answer as such.
In my experience it has been the CPU with the lowest latency, which previously was AMD.
Nowadays, however, I'm not sure there's really anything between them, as long as it's multi-core, of a decent speed (3.2GHz+) and at least 8GB of low-latency RAM.

I need to know which of those that I chose are better for audio production with Cubase 64bit and a huge sample library. 960 or 2600k. I am STUCK, lol. I keep getting different reasons for choosing both. I need an exact answer.

Ah, in that case I'd go for the 2600K - it's a more efficient CPU, which is what you're after ultimately :)
