The firm's scientists were able to slow light down to less than 1/300th of its usual speed (down to about 620 miles per second) by directing it down a carefully designed channel of perforated silicon called a "photonic crystal waveguide." The device allows the light's speed to be varied over a wide range by applying an electrical voltage to the waveguide, IBM said.
If this tech pans out, shall we be trying to overclock light in the ambiguous future?

Then they also supposedly slowed down time (A LOT!) in an unknown circumference.

My physics teacher told us, that some scientists actually stopped and then started light again. :respect:

You can turn on and off lights lol. I know what you mean though. Why would you have to slow time too? Light should be like anything else, why would time get involved?

I watched this really long series of videos made by Nova about this, and string theory and such. The stuff facinates me.

Go here, it explains a phenomenom about light that should mean slowing down light slows down time-

The 4 parter about string theory?
Yeah you seen it?
Pretty awesome.
