I looked at a mobo similar to the Dark Hero. A bit too expensive for my taste.
Oh, yeah, one is absolutely not necessary... I only brought it up because well, you are on a high-end desktop platform right now, and I would suspect that you would have a (few) bones to pick when transitioning to a mainstream desktop platform. The motherboards would look, feel, and actually be rather bare for the level of functionality you are used to in a premium segment HEDT system.
If you can buy a 5900X or 12700K (or even wait for the Zen 3D parts that will be announced next week - I plan on buying one myself and flipping my 5950X, though we'll see how that goes, I developed a suspicion that AMD might attempt something incredibly foolish and price them higher than the current parts despite the threat of Alder Lake), just make sure to pick up a board to go along with it that will satisfy your input/output requirements and provide a reasonably strong VRM to allow the processor enough headroom to work its magic.
Cheers, and remember, no rush... your system is far from being obsolete, and most improvements you can get are niceties at this point.
