my system has been crashing every few days and twice today. i reinstalled the video drivers after uninstalling them and using driver sweeper to clean out the left over stuff but still get crashes. bluescreanveiw shows dxgkrnl.sys and dxgkrnl.sys+5d000 to be the cause can some one help me?

What is the error code of the BSOD?

Also, it helps to know when the problem first occurred. What changes, if any, were made before then? When does the problem typically occur? Are you overclocking? etc.

BTW, that file is related to DirectX, so you could try re-installing that.

i think i was installing a old game about 3 weeks ago and when it installed the directX there was some errors so that could be the prblem i just don't know how to fix it.

ok just updated dx ill let you know if the bsod's stop thanks for your help

Conclusion
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2 crash dumps have been found and analyzed. A third party driver has been identified to be causing system crashes on your computer. It is strongly suggested that you check for updates for these drivers on their company websites. Click on the links below to search with Google for updates for these drivers:

nvlddmkm.sys (NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 270.61 , NVIDIA Corporation)

If no updates for these drivers are available, try searching with Google on the names of these drivers in combination the errors that have been reported for these drivers and include the brand and model name of your computer as well in the query. This often yields interesting results from discussions from users who have been experiencing similar problems.

Read the topic general suggestions for troubleshooting system crashes for more information.

Note that it's not always possible to state with certainty whether a reported driver is actually responsible for crashing your system or that the root cause is in another module. Nonetheless it's suggested you look for updates for the products that these drivers belong to and regularly visit Windows update or enable automatic updates for Windows. In case a piece of malfunctioning hardware is causing trouble, a search with Google on the bug check errors together with the model name and brand of your computer may help you investigate this further.

well i just updated the driver to 275.33 that was released on 6/1/2011 i hope that fixes the problem.

Are you overclocked?

just a little bit the multiplier is set from 15 to 16 and a 3% over clock on the fsb so my cpu is at 3.3 and memory is at 1100

the video card is not over clocked

well so far after driver update there has been no crashes i hope it stays that way
