How do I go about the driver install? DDU first or after I put the 1660 super in?

Yes DDU and then insert the 1660 super

Are you going from a 6900XT to a 1660 Super? If so, why?

RIP man sorry to hear about the GPU.
You can use DDU or NVCleanstall from here as well to remove the old drivers etc + clean install the new ones.

Definitely clear everything out though, 100%.

Is there no salvation for your 6900XT, or will you only use the 1660S as an interim while you wait for the diagnostics and/or repair?

If youre in the UK. You can get a 7800XT for £429

Not a huge fan of the retailer but its significantly cheaper than the 7900GRE and only around 10-15% slower give or take. 7900GREs are £500-520. Although I have seen them selling at £600 for higher end ones.

OP already asked abut Northwest Repair.

Wow! That thing died rather quickly. Is there any warranty left?
Was only 30 days as it was open box from ocuk.

It will be sent off for repair and cleaning and yes, 1660s is part time until I get a 7900XT or 6900xt repaired.
I've seen it in his other thread. My curiosity is about the conclusion of it.
I was informed of a UK guy who repairs GPU's, so not going to northwest repair now
I think it may have something to do with the cannabis resin all over it too. Don't smoke near your pc's kids.

You should only smoke outside, especially Mary Jane that stuff is heavy.

I'd love to have that as an option, but a police officer lives a few doors away...

Technically speaking you could send it back. OcUK will warranty it for 2-3 years depending on the card itself..

This one has 3 years.

I dont think they'll refund you unless youre still within the 14 day purchase refund window but regardless. They will RMA the card for you but the issue is, you could be without that card for anywhere between 1-6 months depending how fast OCuK likes to move and also the GPu vendor.

Your pc shouldn't have conflict with cards/drivers of different brand.
le: typo.

I can't send it to OCuk smelling like Bob Marley's weed tin! They stated a 30 day warranty explicitly.

He might be bunnin the Mary J too lol :pimp::laugh: seriously though doubt that would be the case, check out the "The Filthy, Rotten, Nasty, Helpdesk-Nightmare picture clubhouse" for reference lol am sure a few months of MJ smoke exposure couldn't kill a card outright, still best not to get all that into your case if you can help it, long term build up will make it a bitch to clean your fans, grills and components

Not if it's an open box? ie: customer return, I believe you can't transfer the original manufacturers warranty in most cases, though he could email OCUK to see if it has a full manufacturers warranty alongside the 30day OCUK one, that said, weed does stink to high heaven, I smell it from my neighbours apartment underneath me or just from stoners you pass in the street, yea you know... not sure you're getting the smell out of that without a deep clean and taking off that little warranty void sticker :ohwell:

One of the best stories about Canada. It was about 8:30 AM in the morning and all I had was roaches so I rolled one up. Those smell terrible and I had to go out to the park to smoke that. While I was near the end and nice and cherry 2 police officers came walking towards me on the path. Since Mary Jane is completely legal where I live all they could say to me was Good Morning as I pulled on the 2nd last hit. Then I went home and played the shit out of Helldivers 2.

I puff by my computers all the time.. weed didn't kill your computer lol.

Like i said. They wont refund you. You only get a 30 day warranty with them directly meaning they'll either replace the card or send you out a refund but they'll RMA the card for you. It depends what the listing said at the time you bought it. Just double check.

If they are willing to RMA the card for you then thats a much better result than sending it off to the Adamant IT guy or the USA for repairs. Sending it to the USA is going to cost you a lot lot more and there is a higher risk of it getting lost or damaged in shipping.

I'll ring them tomorrow and see what they say. Worth trying at least!
