After Nvidia merged the image sharpening and scaling in control panel it seems like it works only 50% of the time. Before this it always worked. All drivers behave the same. I use exclusive fullscreen in games that support it. In elden ring it applies about 1/3 of the times I start the game, in age of empires 4 it works 50% of the time. I tried inspector, but can't find where I turn it on there.

i've had problems myself, for awhile the indicator wouldn't even show, the only way i get it "working" is via GFE - which is a PITA since i game on my secondary screen. after being told by "forum experts" that the issue is MY hardware, i use reshade if needed badly for gaming 1440p on 4K screen.

fwiw, i tried DDU, different "new" drivers, registry entries to get the old back. everything(?) short of a clean OS install. no joy.

I have issues with image sharpening as well, usually in the form of a game crash which is disappointing since the games work fine without it.

I feared that, I hate GFE, prefer control panel :/

So I installed GFE and often sharpness don't apply. For once AMD drivers are superior, never had an issue with RIS. Hope there are third party apps which can fix it, this worked fine until they merged the image scaling and sharpness :/

https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforc...sharpening-gone-not-image-scaling-nis-foreve/ may found I workaround, will try this :)

Solution found :D It works!

Thanks to TewChainsaw at nvforums:
'EnableGR535= 0 set in registry results in old control panel 'Scaling / Sharpening' for drivers 496.86 to 511.65 regedit \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\nvlddmkm\FTS EnableGR535= 0x00000000 (0)'
