Can you be more clear about that part? Especially the "it failed, had to uninstall". Did you try it via the wubi program? If so, it will be installed on a virtual drive withinthe windows partition and not an a separate one.

Well, you need the installation DVDs of course. And you need to install one of the Windows OSes on a different hard drive because Microsoft does not support multiboot setups of several Windows OSes (you need to put the drive containing the Windows install you want on the first position of the boot order in the BIOS, when switching between (in your case) Windows XP and Vista).

But why do you want windows 7, XP and Vista on one pc?

I want Xp Or linux Because Xp dosent use as much "make my computer pretty" power
I want vista Cause I like to use it.
I hav win 7
and I tried to install it once. It installed but it wouldent boot. I tried uninstalling. then it kept saying already tried to install ubuntu once and Said no Is there a way to say install or Else Rawr?

Did you install ubuntu via wubi (with Windows booted) or by booting from the cd?

I believe you need to install Linux first. I can't remember how I did mine as it was a few years ago.
Also, if you want XP and Vista installed as well, XP will need to be installed first, then Vista, then 7.

First Windows, then Ubuntu ACheeseDanish. This way the GranUnifiedBootloader will get updated properly (with entries pointing towards the Windows bootloader).

Okay, that's what I figured. Forgot :o

hum allright new Question about same subjects
How would I move the Os's From the Hdd with Xp and Vista Already Loaded onto them onto another SSD Parition (I dont care if I keep the Data Just need the Os's themselfs)
Basically migrate an old Os onto a new Thing
and I tried ubuntu install every way possible its just gay

oh I cant uninstall Linux cause its missing a thing it needs to uninstall So Idk its all confizzling me
could anyone TeamView to help?

You'll have to format the partition that Linux was supposed to be on to clear the data off. You can use a Win 7 install disc to do this.

Do you want to quad boot? Basically be able to boot from any OS that you have installed?

What I want to do *idk if possible* Is Dual boot *2 moniters* running A Version of Windows and Linux or 2 windows, ect at the same time..... Im running currently on OS (C:) (win 7)
I want to put those 3 Os's on my Q, J and W Drives
i tried to install ubuntu again just now it said It cant uninstall Idk what To do.....
Im also wondering If u know how I can max out my Ram usage to its max (only uses 16 of 24)
And I also want to Quad boot..... I had linux working ONCE It didnt completely work it would let me Dual my Win 7 and Linux but I uninstalled *failed* by formatting the drive. and ever since then I cant get it back on, I also tried to install Zorin Os but I have no Idea what to do with that

Dual boot means two Oses installed, running only one at the same time. If you want to run several OSes at exactly the same time, you need to choose 1 host OS and run the other OSes as guest OSes in a virtual machine.

Would It be possible to have Extended moniters something like that.....
where you roll the mouse over off the screen it goes onto the other screen but It being a different Os. Without Vm? and how does Vm work Exactly

Read the wikipedia link dude. Best way to explain how it works. And because the guest OSes are running in a VM program (e.g. Virtualbox), you can put them on a second screen as long as the host OS has got extended desktop (what you misnamed as "extende monitor").

You can't run 2 OSes on 1 computer at the same time from physical drives.
In order to run multiple OSes on 1 computer, you need to use a virtual machine.

A virtual machine (VMWare, MS Virtual Machine, Virtual Box) will allow you to boot, run, and save your state as if it was its own physical machine. You can run multiple OSes in virtual machines at one time; this means you can boot your physical computer to Windows 7, and run a virtual machine for XP, Vista, and Linux at the same time. Caution: your computer will run rather slow if you were to run all 3 at once.

If the host computer (your pc) has 2 monitors, you can extended the desktop and have the virtual machine(s) run on the second monitor.
