Intel Arc A770

Looks like the software is only available in the US as I see nothing about a free software here in Canada.

I am pretty sure you get it anywhere.

There is a catch though :

Intel has this guide about reducing idle power consumption, any chance you could take a look with any of the Intel gpus @W1zzard (if the x570 dark doesn't have the option, maybe with a different board that has it)?

Great review, W1zzard!!! Your dedication is incredible, also all in-depth benchmarks.

@W1zzard Do you have any information on Intel's driver updates for the 770? I purchased the Asrock Phantom Gaming on sale for $260 for a 2K setup for my youngest son. I took the plunge on this new hardware, and I'm just wondering if you might have any updated insight on the card?

Nothing beyond what is publicly announced

Apologies for the bump for a post this old but I wanted to ask.

@W1zzard Have you ever thought of doing a sort of revisit for the A770 and A750 where you retest them with their latest drivers and then compare how much the performance has improved compared to launch due to driver optimisation/improvements?

The difficulty though is the different test setup and different library of games you use now for testing compared to what you used 2 years ago. Of course if you believe it isn't necessary no problem but I just think it would make for an interesting review to see how much the performance has improved through new drivers for the two cards 2 years after they launched.

Other channels and sites have done this as a dedicated article, but @W1zzard retests the Arc with current drivers in every GPU review, so the updated A770 and A750 results will be in any newer GPU reviews that include those GPUs for comparison.

"All games and cards are tested with the drivers listed above—no performance results were recycled between test systems."

Date of Retest

We retest all our comparison cards every few months, with the latest drivers, new games, patches and OS updates.

Just compare Arc770 and 750 results from this review alongside the results with newer drivers in something like the A380 review or the RTX 3050 6GB review.

I have Sparkle Arc A770 ROC in the pipeline
